Diese ist ausgestattet mit Farbübertragungswalzen (F, K) und diesen zugeordneten Stellantrieben, mit welchen die Position (x) der Walzen (F, K) veränderbar ist. DOLLAR A Neu und erfinderisch ist, dass zumindest eine Kamera während des Druckbetriebes die Intensität des von dem bedruckten Stoff reflektierten Lichts aufzeichnet sowie die aufgezeichneten Messwerte einer Steuer- und Regeleinheit zuführt, welche die aufgezeichneten Messwerte mit Sollwerten vergleicht und Stellsignale für den Stellantrieb zumindest eines Teils der am Druckprozess beteiligten Walzen erzeugt. Aufgrund der Stellsignale wird der Stellantrieb der Relativposition der ihm zugeordneten Walze solange verändert, bis die Messwerte wieder innerhalb eines Toleranzbereichs liegen.

In a web-fed screen printing machine in which the web is stuck to an endless conveyer belt for presentation to a printing station, the upper flight 2a of the belt is intermittently movable whilst the lower flight 2b moves continuously. This is achieved by passing the belt around two rollers 3 and 4 each of which is mounted in a carriage 17 movable along rails 18 the carriages being joined together in fixed relative positions by an endless chain 19. Hydraulically operated gripper elements 10 are used to intermittently advance the combined web and upper belt flight 2a to a position on the printing table 1, such forward movement also causing similar movement of the roller carriages 17. Whilst the flight 2a is stationary a motor and chain drive 32, 31, 30, 29, 28, 25, 24 and 26, Fig. 2 (not shown), causes retraction of the carriage 17 carrying the roller 3, the latter roller carrying a suitable sprocket-wheel 23 for this purpose such wheel engaging the chain 24 of the motor and chain drive. The motor is of variable speed being controlled by an element 33 connected by a rod system 34 to the carriage 17.

The linkage comprises a first piston and cylinder device 13 connected between levers 6 and 7 acting on the bearings 4 and 5 and a second piston and cylinder device 9 connected for the lever 6. Adjustable stops 11, 12, 14 and 15 limit the motion of the levers. The bearings of the inking rollers 25-28 and the damping rollers 32 and 33 are connected to a bracket 17 supported on extension 16 of the eccentric bearings 5 of cylinder 3. The connection is made through hydraulic, pneumatic or electrically displaceable linkages 21 which are pivoted on worm wheels 19. The rollers may be moved in to contact with the cylinder by actuation of the linkages 21 and the contact pressure may be adjusted by rotating wheels 19 with worm screws 18. The attachment of the rollers for bracket 17 ensures that the rollers will maintain contact with cylinder 3 during movement of the cylinder as described above.

A film transfer apparatus includes an application unit, a transfer unit downstream of the application unit, and at least one third unit for further processing a printing material with a transfer layer applied. In the prior art, if contact pressure is exerted on coated printing material again in a following nip, the adhesive layer under the transfer layer can be pressed out. A blanket can then be contaminated with adhesive, ink itself can be contaminated and parts of the transfer layer can be detached from the coated sheet. In order to avoid pressing out the adhesive, measured values in the transfer unit are compared with corresponding values in the third unit. At least one controlled variable in the units can then be readjusted on the basis of a difference, to at least reduce the quantity of adhesive squeezed out. A transfer method and a covering surface are also provided.

Ein Gummituch (401) kann so mit Kleber verunreinigt werden, wodurch Farbe selber verunreinigt wird und wieder Teile der Transferschicht (201) von dem beschichteten Bogen (104) abgelöst werden können. Erfindungsgemäß ist es vorgesehen, dass Messwerte im Transferwerk (102) mit den entsprechenden Werten im dritten Werk (103) verglichen werden. Aufgrund eines Unterschiedes kann dann wenigstens eine Regelgröße in den Werken (102, 103) nachgeregelt werden um die Menge des herausgequetschten Klebers zumindest zu verringern. The above is provided with ink transfer rollers (F,K) and actuators for the same, by means of which the position (x) of the rollers (F, K) may be adjusted. The use of at least one camera to record the intensity of the light reflected from the printed material during the printing process and to supply the recorded measured values to a control and regulation unit which compares the recorded measured values with set values and generates control signals for the actuators of at least a part of the rollers involved in the printing process is novel and inventive. A process for adjusting the print image of a rotating machine equipped with transfer rollers and actuators assigned to them includes changing the position of the rollers. During the printing operation, at least one camera records the intensity of light reflected from the printed material. The camera also feeds the recorded measured values to a control and regulation unit that compares the recorded measured values with set values, and generates corrective signals for the actuator of at least one part of the rollers involved in the printing process. Based on the corrective signals, the actuator of the relative position of the roller assigned to it is actuated until the measured values once again lie within a tolerance range.

A method for the adjustment of the printed image in a web printing machine is disclosed. The above is provided with ink transfer rollers (F,K) and actuators for the same, by means of which the position (x) of the rollers (F, K) may be adjusted. The use of at least one camera to record the intensity of the light reflected from the printed material during the printing process and to supply the recorded measured values to a control and regulation unit which compares the recorded measured values with set values and generates control signals for the actuators of at least a part of the rollers involved in the printing process is novel and inventive. Based on the control signals the actuators change the position of the corresponding roller until the measured values are within a tolerance range again.

PROCESSING PAPER AND OTHER WEBS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A printing apparatus has an array of cartridges for printing a web of e.g. paper passing through the array, and one or more units containing printing medium. The cartridges each are capable of transferring the printing medium from the unit(s) to the web. The unit(s) and the cartridges of the array are relatively movable, to allow the unit(s) to interact successively with at least two of the cartridges. In this way it is possible to change printing from one cartridge to another, allowing changes to be made to what is printed, without halting the movement of web significantly. The present invention also proposes that the cartridges may have printing cylinders of different sizes, and furthermore that a mobile unwind stand may be used to move web material to the printing apparatus, and the web output from the printing apparatus processed by sheet folding techniques.
