A device and a method for coating a printing material include a foil engaged with a printing material on an impression cylinder using guide rollers. The foil and the printing material are guided together in an engagement area and a functional layer, such as glue or varnish, is dried, i.e. activated or polymerized, through the foil in the engagement area using a drier. The guide rollers are disengaged from the impression cylinder to avoid contact between the foil and grippers of the impression cylinder. To improve a detachment behavior of the foil from the functional layer, an angle of detachment between the foil and the sheet is varied by pivoting the guide rollers about an external geometrical pivot axis or an internal geometrical pivot axis, or at least assisting the disengagement of the foil from the impression cylinder by a change of a pneumatic condition of a foil-guiding element.

Sublimation (transfer of color via existing heat activated process) of computer generated process color/full color images into polyester coating that has been applied to the flat surface of malleable metal. A dimensional metal stamping die is then created with relief and/or texture to correspond in location to or otherwise enhance the color image that has been previously sublimated on the flat metal. Metal is then locked into position and stamped with the impression that has been cut into the hardened die. The result is a new, efficient method to achieve life-like color on 3-dimensional sculpted metal. Virtual patinas and tinting can also be achieved without additional chemicals or plating. Digitally generated variable printed data, variable sublimated color images and variable color schemes can be sublimated before minting or added as a third step with good definition on raised flat areas post stamping. 1. A method of enhancing 3d stamped metal surface with color , tint or shading by using the following steps in the following order: sublimation of color into full-face polyester coating on flat faced metal prior to minting/debossing/embossing/stamping versus using other colorizing methods or in spot locations prior to stamping or versus colorizing after forming the metal.2. The method includes feeding a polymer film into a flexographic printing apparatus; printing at least one wetness indicator ink onto a first side of the perforated polymer; and perforating the polymer film by forming a plurality of apertures or enlarged micropores that extend from the first side to the second side. The apertures or enlarged micropores permit a sufficient quantity of an aqueous liquid to pass from the second side through the perforated polymer film to the first side. Upon contact, the aqueous liquid reacts with the wetness indicator ink to cause a color change visible by an unaided human eye. In an absorbent article including the inventive film as a backsheet, the total amount of liquid that passes through the backsheet is negligible and the barrier properties of the backsheet as a whole are not compromised. 1. A method of making a wetness-indicating polymer film comprisingfeeding a polymer film having a first side and a second side into a flexographic printing apparatus;printing at least one wetness indicator ink onto the first side of the polymer film; andperforating the polymer film by forming a plurality of apertures or enlarged micropores in the polymer film that extend from the first side to the second side, wherein said plurality of apertures or enlarged micropores, which are in register with the printed at least one wetness indicator ink, permit passage of a sufficient quantity of an aqueous liquid from the second side through the perforated polymer film to the first side to react with said wetness indicator ink printed onto the first side and cause said wetness indicator ink to undergo a color change visible by unaided human eye.2. A method for material deposition employs a printing press, such as those used in cold foil transfers, that permits a greater usage of the foil web than traditional methods. This is achieved by increasing the number of times the foil web is passed through the press, while simultaneously taking into account the area that has not been used and adjusting the impacted area of the foil web accordingly. The foil web is adjusted by using a series of adjustable rollers and angular bars to change the length of the circumferential path the foil takes through the press. By modifying the angle of these rollers and the distance between them, the path can be lengthened or shortened to correspond to the particular needs for a particular print job. This allows the press to use the foil in such a way that reduces foil waste and manufacturer and consumer costs.

A method of forming a digital embossing () on a surface () by bonding hard press particles () to a carrier (). A liquid binder pattern (P) is applied on the carrier by a digital drop application head. Hard press particles () are applied on the carrier () and the binder pattern such that some hard press particles are bonded to the carrier () by the liquid pattern and non-bonded press particles () are removed. The carrier () with the bonded hard press particles () is pressed to the surface () and an embossing is formed when the carrier () with the hard press particles () is removed. 1. A method of forming a digital embossing on a surface by bonding hard press particles to a carrier , the method comprising the steps of:providing a liquid binder pattern on the carrier by a digital drop application head that applies a liquid substance on the carrier;applying the hard press particles on the carrier and the liquid binder pattern such that at least some hard press particles are bonded to the carrier by the liquid binder pattern;removing non-bonded hard press particles from the carrier;pressing the carrier with the bonded hard press particles to the surface; andremoving the carrier with the bonded hard press particles from the pressed surface.2. A printing system , comprising:a closed loop lane;at least one support movably coupled to said closed loop lane for carrying one or more objects placed thereon along at least one section of said closed loop lane;at least one array of print head units defining a printing route along said at least one section of the closed loop lane for printing on objects carried therealong by said at least one support;a mobilizing mechanism mounted on said at least one support for moving it along said at least one section of the closed loop lane; andone or more object holders mounted on said at least one support, each of said one or more object holders configured to hold and rotate one of said one or more objects while said at least one support is moved by said mobilizing mechanism along said at least one printing route and said object is being printed on by said at least one array of print head units.2. The printing system of claim 1 , further comprising at least one additional array of the print head units defining at least one additional printing route along said at one section of the closed loop lane for printing on objects carried therealong by said at least one support.3. The present invention relates to a panel as well as a method for producing a panel, in particular a wall- ceiling- or floor panel. The method according to the invention provides that a layer of liquid radiation curing acrylate with a low Martens hardness is applied on a support layer in a first step. This is followed by an application of an intermediate layer in a second step and thereafter the application of a further layer wet-on-wet, which as a Martens hardness after curing which is larger than the Martens hardness of the first applied layer. The resulting panel has an intermediate layer with an inhomogeneous hardness profile due to the wet-on-wet application which leads to particularly advantageous properties.
