The outer body forms a radial flange ( 17 ) and is made of a lighter material than that of the core. An outboard sealing system cooperates with components of a heavy-duty vehicle wheel end assembly to retain lubricant in the assembly. The sealing system includes a seal that is disposed axially between an outboard bearing and a hubcap of a wheel end assembly. The seal also extends radially between an axle spindle nut and a surface of a bore formed in the hub of the wheel end assembly. The seal forms a barrier between the outboard bearing and the hubcap to reduce a flow of lubricant from a hub cavity into the hubcap. The sealing system retains lubricant in the wheel end assembly, prevents contaminants from entering the wheel end assembly, and retains the relative position of the outboard bearing in the hub during servicing. The sealing system preferably includes an additional barrier that reduces corrosion at the interface of the hubcap and an outboard face of the hub. 1. A bearing arrangement for an aircraft landing gear wheel is provided that effectively supports the wheel on an axle while maximizing internal wheel volume available for mounting non-engine drive means used to power the wheel and/or brakes or other structures within the maximized wheel volume. A mechanical drive seal housing includes a lubricant reservoir to supplement the amount of available lubricant. The lubricant is used to cool a seal having two halves. The seal halves include complimentary textures configured to move and retain lubricant. A drive axle includes a stationary shaft and a wheel hub rotatably connected to the stationary shaft. A metal face seal is located at an interface between the stationary shaft and the wheel hub. A stationary seal half of the metal face seal is located in a mechanical drive seal housing which includes a lubricant reservoir to supplement the amount of available lubricant. 1. A mechanical drive seal housing comprising:a circular outer diameter;a circular inner diameter;a seal receiving slot located on a first side of the mechanical drive seal housing between the outer diameter and the inner diameter;a lubricant reservoir located adjacent to the seal receiving slot and between the outer diameter and the inner diameter.2. The mechanical drive seal housing of wherein the lubricant reservoir protrudes outward from a second side of the mechanical drive seal housing.3. The mechanical drive seal housing of wherein the lubricant reservoir is sized to contain a predetermined amount of lubricant.4. The mechanical drive seal housing of wherein the predetermined amount of lubricant is an additional amount substantially equal to an amount of lubricant required to fill a cavity of the mechanical drive seal housing above a lubricant fill level.5. The mechanical drive seal housing of wherein the lubricant reservoir is located radially and axially inward of the seal receiving slot.6. The mechanical drive seal housing of wherein the lubricant reservoir protrudes adjacent to a surface of a standing lubricant level.7. There is provided a bearing device in which an inner member and an outer member are connected to each other in a relative rotation relationship through rolling elements. A sealing member may be provided in an end portion of the bearing device so as to prevent an external foreign substance from flowing into the bearing device or prevent lubricant filled in the bearing device from leaking out of the bearing device. The sealing member may comprise a frame constituting a basic body and an elastic sealing portion attached to the frame, and the elastic sealing portion may comprise one or more sealing lips. The one or more sealing lips may comprise a main sealing lip configured to perform a main sealing function and an auxiliary sealing lip located inward of the main sealing lip.

A thrust nut for bearing against an axle includes a nut body, a first race member and a row of rolling elements. The nut body has opposing first and second surfaces and defines a threaded hole therein. The first race member is arranged to face the first surface of the nut body. The nut body serves as a second race member and cooperates with the first race member to co-define an annular track therebetween. The row of rolling elements is disposed in the annular track between the first race member and the nut body. 1. A thrust nut for bearing against an axle , comprising:a nut body having opposing first and second surfaces and defining a threaded hole therein;a first race member facing the first surface of the nut body, wherein the nut body serves as a second race member and cooperates with the first race member to co-define an annular track therebetween; anda row of rolling elements disposed in the annular track between the first race member and the nut body.2.
