The carrier and object may be a cycle carrier and bicycle respectively, and the system to be potentially deactivated may be a rear screen wiper, a rear parking assistance system, or power operated rear closure / tailgate system. A motor vehicle using a system of the same method is also disclosed.

The bicycle storage rack comprises a plurality of horizontal support members, a plurality of vertical support members, and one or more gripping members secured to at least one of the plurality of horizontal support members. The method of storing a bicycle using a bicycle storage rack comprises placing a bicycle into a horizontal position on a bicycle storage rack where a rotational axis of a wheel of the bicycle is divergent to each of a plurality of horizontal support members. In some examples, the bicycle storage rack is located within a bed of a truck, and the method further comprises covering the bicycle storage rack and the bicycle with a tonneau cover associated with the truck. 1. A tailgate debris catching assembly for a vehicle is presented herein. Particularly, the assembly includes at least one, but in some cases, a plurality of at least two, vehicle attachment assemblies securely attached to the vehicle, for example, on the sides of the vehicle at or near the rear. A debris receptacle or bin including an open top portion and an inner receiving area is connected to or otherwise attached to the vehicle attachment assemblies and positioned in a manner to receive and at least temporarily retain debris fallen from the vehicle and through the open top portion of the debris receptacle.
