A transporter with a skip to be filled, e.g. by several silos in line, and running on rails or suspended from them, is fitted on its top with two magnetic field transmitters. One of them passes underneath pickups on the feeders of each silo so that they can be operated for a programmed time when the transporter arrives under them. The second magnetic field transmitter cooperates with a stationary pickup near the discharge station for the transporter and provides the starting impulse for the transporter drive. The magnetic field transmitters are mounted on a rigid structure which does not follow the vibrations of the sprung skip. They and the pickups are mounted in light metal or plastic housings, filled with silicone rubber.

The mechanically operated disclosing-shutter b carries a bracket a on which is pivoted a catch c having teeth d, e, normally held outwards by a spring f. The catch c is controlled by electro-magnets g, h so arranged in the engine circuit that one or the other is energized to attract the catch c whenever current is passing through the engine circuits from a ramp, that is, whenever the engine is receiving a ' line clear' signal. Opposite the catch is placed a lever i which actuates by means of a port k, a valve in the brake controlling system. Downward movement of the lever is limited by a sealed stop m, and both the lever and the catch are enclosed in a sealed box. When the engine arrives at a distant-signal ramp, the shutter b is lowered to a sufficient extent to place only the tooth e under the lever i, and if the engine passes off the ramp while no current is passing and a danger' signal is consequently being received, the raising of the shutter causes the tooth e to catch and turn the lever i to open partly the port k to a channel n, Fig. 1<a>, so as to cause the brake to be partly applied. Should a home signal be passed at 'danger,' the second tooth d, which in this case is drawn below the lever i by the shutter, turns the lever to open the port k fully to the channel n thereby putting the brakes on hard. Es wird fahrerloses Transportsystem, FTS, (10), offenbart das aufweist: einen Fahrkurs (12), der aus, vorzugsweise unidirektional befahrenen, Strecken (14), die jeweils durch eine Spur (28) definiert werden, und aus Markierungen (16) gebildet wird; eine Flotte (18) aus mindestens zwei fahrerlosen Transportfahrzeugen, FTF, (20), die entlang der Spuren (28) zwangsgeführt fahren; und mindestens eine Station (26), die definiert ist durch: mindestens eine der Spuren (28), mindestens eine der Markierungen (16) und einen individualisierenden zugeordneten Stationsidentifikator; wobei jede der Stationen (26) ein Terminal (70) für eine Fahrzielvergabe aufweisen kann und wobei jede der Stationen (26) einen Bereich des Fahrkurses (12) darstellt, innerhalb dem die FTF (20) ein neues Fahrziel zugewiesen bekommen können und/oder beladen, entladen, energetisch aufge- laden und/oder angehalten werden können; wobei die Markierungen (16) Informationen umfassen, die stationsspezifisch sind, indem die jeweilige Information mit dem jeweils zugeordneten Stationsidentifikator verknüpft ist; wobei jedes der FTF (20) aufweist; eine Kommunikationseinheit (52) zum Senden und Empfangen von Informationen; eine Markierungserfassungseinheit (54) zum, vorzugsweise berührungslosen, Auslesen der Informationen aus den Markierungen (16); und eine Steuereinheit (58) zum Verarbeiten von gelesenen und empfangenen Informationen; und wobei eine Kommunikation zwi- schen den FTF (20) untereinander und eine Kommunikation zwischen den FTF (20) und Terminals (70) jeweils direkt und insbesondere FTF-unspezifisch erfolgt.

A signal aspect enforcement method for a rail vehicle includes determining if vehicle position is unknown. The system determines if rail vehicle speed is less than a line-of-sight threshold speed. The system determines the grade of the rail. A worst-case braking distance of rail vehicle is calculated. The signal aspect is determined using a camera system and a beacon system.
