A method of manufacturing an assembly for a bicycle can include applying adhesive, to bond metal on metal, to at least one of the leg and the crown, inserting a part of the leg into a part of the crown, the parts forming a slip fit, and curing the adhesive. A similar method can also be used to attach the steer tube to the crown.

The front end of said carrier element is connected to the chassis, and its rear end is hinged to said top end of said support element about a second pivot point. The bottom end of the support element is hinged to the rockable rear assembly about a third pivot point. During compression of the shock-absorber system, the support element goes from a position in which the third pivot point is situated on a first side of the axis passing through the other two pivot points, to a position in which said third pivot point is situated on a second side of the axis, so that all three pivot points are substantially aligned at at least one stage of compression of the shock-absorber system.

A change in vertical wheel travel (ΔVWT) of the rear wheel is related to a change in the length of the shock absorber (ΔSL), providing a shock rate (SR). The shock rate (SR) changes throughout the vertical wheel travel of the rear wheel, such that the change in the shock rate dSR/dVWT has a change in sign as the rear wheel travels through its vertical wheel travel. In each case, the rate of change of the shock includes a change in sign, from positive to negative or from negative to positive. In some embodiments, the swingarm may be attached to the frame at a single pivot point or through a linkage system.

A velocipede includes a pedal crank for pedals to allow an operator to power the velocipede, and a transmission hub or component that is coupled to the pedal crank by a first chain or belt. The transmission component is located rearward of the pedal crank in the frame of the velocipede, such as under a seat position, and is further connected to a rear wheel at an output of the transmission component by a second chain or belt. The transmission has an output that is coupled to a rear wheel assembly. In some embodiments the rear wheel assembly can be mounted in a swingarm that pivots about a transverse axis defined by the output of the transmission. In some embodiments the rear wheel assembly can include an electric motor to drive a rear wheel. 1. A hybrid pedal and electric powered vehicle having a split drive arrangement , comprising:a frame having a seat mount, and a neck that is forward of the seat mount that is configured to couple with a front wheel assembly;a pedal crank positioned forward of the seat mount and having a pedal crank sprocket;a transmission component positioned behind the pedal crank and defining a transverse axis, and having a first sprocket on a first side of the transmission component on the transverse axis configured to couple to the pedal crank sprocket by a chain or belt, and further having a second sprocket on a second side of the transmission component on the transverse axis, wherein the transmission component is mounted between a first mounting plate and a second mounting plate, wherein the transmission component includes a spindle that extends outwards along the transverse axis, wherein a first portion of the spindle extends through an aperture in the first mounting plate, and a second portion of the spindle extends through an aperture in the second mounting plate;a swingarm coupled to the frame by a suspension component, the swingarm being further coupled to the frame at a pivot point that is coaxial with the transverse axis of the ...

A diaphragm unit detachably attached to a damper body, includes: a cylinder in which a liquid is sealed; a piston rod having a piston sliding inside the cylinder on one end side of the piston rod, in which other end side of the piston rod is extended to an outside of the cylinder; and a rod guide having a bottomed cylindrical shape wherein an insertion opening into which the piston rod is inserted is provided at a bottom portion of the rod guide, the rod guide being fixed to a side of an opening of the cylinder into which the piston is inserted to thereby make the piston rod be slidably inserted in a liquid tight manner, the diaphragm unit further comprising: an end member; an air seal; a rod side member; an annular bump rubber; and a tubular diaphragm, as defined herein.
