A manual fill device may be incorporated into a manual fill center of a pharmacy operated by one or more pharmacists and/or pharmacist technicians to manually fill certain prescription containers. Method and systems for sorting are described. In one embodiment, a container is released into a pocket section, with the pocket section being at a first alignment stage. The pocket section is rotated with the container away from the first alignment stage to a second alignment stage. Attributes of the container are acquired at the second alignment stage. An order to which the container belongs is identified with the acquired attributes. The pocket section with the container is rotated to a third alignment stage. The location of the third alignment stage is selected based on the identified order. The container is received to group with one or more containers in the identified order. A high speed case opener is comprised of an ingress section, and transition section, and an egress section. Boxes entering the high speed case opener on a conveyor are cut by a pair of rotating blades mounted on either side of the conveyor. Movement of the box is paused after it is cut and the trajectory of the box is redirected 90° by operation of a redirection means located within the transition section. After being so redirected, the box enters the egress section where a pair of rotating blades cut the box on the two previously uncut sides, forming a lid which can be readily removed to access the contents of the box. The rotating blades are each enclosed within a deflection segment and are only exposed when a box presses against a pair of deflection segments.

There is disclosed a method for packing articles, liquid or loose material in film bags which are conveyed through a filling station in a continuous web of bag items, wherein the bag openings are kept open for reception of articles, after which the bags are closed and separated from the web. In order to increase the filling rate and make the bags cheaper, the bag web is provided with a central support region extending longitudinally of the bag web and connecting bag items that are disposed side by side transversely of the web. The central support region is conveyed on a support rail along the conveyor path through the filling station and formed as an entirely or partially closed channel. The peripheral areas of the bag items at the outermost opposite bag opening edges of two juxtaposed bag items are brought into guiding connection with guide means adapted for retaining and guiding edge areas at opposing bag opening edges along a conveyor path through the filling station. In connection with this passage, the guide means will force the bag opening edges apart for successive opening of the bags in the filling station, and then, after filling the bags, joining the bag opening edges for closing the bags again. 1. There is disclosed a bag web for packing articles in film bags provided as a contiguous web. At an opening edge, the bag web is provided with peripheral strip areas having holes intended for guide connection with guide means that can retain and guide the bags along a conveyor path through a filling station. The present invention relates to a method and a product dispenser comprising a tank for storing a flowable product and a conveyor for conveying storage containers along a longitudinal direction from an entry position to an exit position. The product dispenser further comprises a dosing mechanism extending in the longitudinal direction above the conveyor. A large container loading system and method for a packaging machine includes an infeed conveyor and a transfer flight. An array of pivotable cradle lugs is carried by the transfer flight in synchronized movement with cartons on an adjacent carton flight. An apparatus for closing a flap on an open end of a box may include a device having a slot and a mechanism operable to provide a relative motion between the slot and the flap. The relative motion may cause the flap to be received into the slot and the flap to be reoriented to a closed position. A method of closing an open end of a box being conveyed downstream, with the open end facing transversely, may include two operations. With a trailing minor flap on the open end being held in a substantially upstream-pointing open position, the opposing leading minor flap on the open end may be closed from a substantially downstream-pointing open position to a substantially upstream-pointing closed position. With the leading minor flap being held in the closed position, the trailing minor flap may be closed from the open position to a substantially downstream-pointing closed position. 1. An apparatus for closing a flap on an open end of a box , the apparatus comprising:(a) a device having a slot;(b) a mechanism operable to provide a relative motion between the slot and the flap, the relative motion operable to cause the flap to be received into the slot to reorient the flap to a closed position.2.
