A waste collection system has an outer shell arranged at least partly underground. A waste container ( 6 ) is inserted partly into the outer shell, and has a frame mainly above the ground ( 8 ), and a top container ( 9 ) mainly above the ground and inside the frame. A bottom container is arranged mainly underground inside the outer shell. The waste container has a cover which opens to emptying the container and one or more filling openings arranged on the cover for introducing waste into the waste container. Lifting means are arranged on the frame, and are engaged by a lifting mechanism ( 20 ) so the waste container can be lifted out from the outer shell and emptied and returned. The frame has protrusion(s) ( 18, 19 ) toward the inside of the frame and the top container has corresponding recesses ( 21, 22 ) which attach the top container to the frame.

Trash container

The improved trash container may have a dustpan attached to the opening of the trash container. The dustpan engages the ground when the trash container is laid down flat. As the trash container is moved from one location to another, the lip of the dustpan is self sharpening. The ground sharpens the lip of the dust pan to further improve contact between the floor and the lip or mitigate dust from slipping under the dustpan itself when the waste product is being swept into the trash container. Moreover, the improved trash container may have a raised lower portion to balance the trashcan on the lip and the raised portion to facilitate contact between the lip and the ground. The lip may be manufactured from a softer material compared to the raised proportion to increase the life span of the improved trash container.

Garbage container

A garbage container of the present invention includes a main body, a sensor, a pedal, a connecting member, a driving mechanism, and a lid. A receiving opening is formed on a top of the main body. The pedal contacts with the sensor. The lid connects with the connecting member. When the pedal is pressed or released, a resistance of the sensor changes, and then the sensor sends a signal to a controller. After receiving signals, the controller drives the connecting member to elevate or to descend via the driving mechanism. A trash receptacle is configured to use a shopping bag as a liner by hanging the shopping bag handles over handles or other extensions of the trash receptacle. Separating features such as protruding handle appendages and/or recessed or horizontally offset receptacle rims provide grasping spaces below the suspended bag handles into which a user's hands can be inserted for easy grasping of the bag handles during bag removal. The receptacle extensions can be fixed or removably attachable to the trash receptacle, or can be fixed to a removable receptacle adaptor. They can be curved and/or slanted inward. Automated Waste Collection System

An automated waste collection has a housing, within which is disposed a deployment mechanism for receiving a waste bin. The waste bin may be placed onto the deployment mechanism through an access opening traversing through the housing and selectively obstructed by an access closure. Waste may be deposited within the waste bin through a lid opening at a top of the housing. The deployment mechanism may be displaced by a deployment actuator between a stored position within the housing and a deployed position external to the housing. In order to do so, the deployment mechanism traverses through a deployment opening selectively obstructed by a deployment closure. A controller operates according to a predetermined waste collection schedule, actuating the deployment actuator at any scheduled waste collection times.

SECURITY BIN

A security bin formed from a commercially available rectangular plastic bin having removable lids that are secured to the bin to prevent unauthorized access to the items placed therein. The lids are locked with a tamperproof flap and latching hook to prevent access to the bin contents. Plexiglass windows allow viewing of materials placed within the bin. An animal-resistant system for inhibiting access to refuse containers by animals is disclosed. The system comprises at least one latch mechanism, at least one actuation member, at least one shroud member, and a cover defining an opening which permits access to the actuation member. The actuation member communicates with the latch mechanism so as to move the latch mechanism between the latched and unlatched positions. In the latched position, the latch mechanism secures the container lid to the container base, substantially inhibiting access to the container. The access hole and actuation member are dimensioned and positioned on the container in a selected manner so as allow human hands access to the actuation member and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals. The shrouds are further configured to inhibit forcible entry into the container when the system is latched.

A trash compactor , comprising:a frame defining a cavity;a receptacle configured for arrangement within the frame and to receive trash;an upper linkage having a first end and a second end, the first end of said upper linkage attached to the frame by a first simple hinge joint, the first simple hinge joint having an axis of rotation;a lower linkage having a first end and a second end, the first end of the lower linkage attached to the second end of the upper linkage by a second simple hinge joint;a platen configured to move within the receptacle to compact the trash, the platen connected to the second end of said lower linkage by a third simple hinge joint; anda compacting mechanism configured to drive movement of the platen, the compacting mechanism having a secured end and having a moving end vertically displaced from the secured end, the moving end pivotally connected to a linkage at a point between the first end of the upper linkage and the second end of the lower linkage, the compacting mechanism driving the platen by changing the distance between the secured end and the moving end thereby imparting motion to the first linkage and resulting motion in the second linkage and the platen.37. A receptacle having a lid coupled to a receptacle body by a hinge is configured for the replacement of a flexible liner without removal of the lid. A flange extension is configured at an offset distance to the hinge and enables the perimeter of the flexible liner to be retained in a liner retainer and extend up and over the hinge and into a flange extension on the opposing side of the hinge. This configuration holds the perimeter of the flexible liner taut and ensures that it remains in place as contents are placed in the receptacle. A trash can device for assisting a user in lifting and removing a trash can liner from a trash can. The device includes a container having a base, one or more sidewalls, and an open upper end. The device further includes an interior volume in which a trash can liner can be placed. The sidewalls comprise an upper end and a lower end. The lower end of at least one sidewall includes one or more recessed foot supports that serve as footholds, allowing the user to hold the trash can in place with his or her foot while removing the trash can liner therefrom. A first webbing is secured in a loop to one release buckle, while a second webbing is secured around the other release buckle. A cable tie is positioned through the loop in the first webbing and inserted through openings in the hinged lid such that the cable tie can be tied about itself to secure the release buckle to the hinged lid.
