Apparatus for combining newspapers from a pair of newspaper stuffing assemblies into a single stream of overlapped newspapers. A rotatable tine wheel has on its periphery a number of movable newspaper receiving tines interspersed with a like number of fixed newpaper receiving tines. Newspapers are fed to the fixed tines from a pocket of a newspaper stuffing assembly and to the movable tines from a feed apparatus supplied by a conveyor from a second stuffing assembly. The fixed and movable tines alternately deposit the newspapers upon a single delivery conveyor overlapping a previously deposited newspaper to form a single, lapped stream. The movable tines are movable between a newspaper receiving position and a position out of the newspaper receiving path of an adjacent fixed tine.

Moreover, a pull type electromagnet and a spring are used to control the opening and closing of the banknote clamping and conveying mechanism, thus a traditional motor control method and the like can be omitted, such that the cost is low, and the reliability is high.

A method for forming product stacks of folded or unfolded product blanks made of paper or chemical pulp , said method comprising:supplying product blanks consecutively to a stacking surface and placing them in an upright position;inserting a separating element between two consecutive product blanks as the product blanks are moved against a channel wall of a discharge channel for temporary support of a rear side of the product blanks, to thereby form a first product stack with a predetermined number of product blanks between the separating element and the channel wall;opening the channel wall, thereby allowing the first product stack to be transferred to the discharge channel; andinserting a sliding element between the product stack and a subsequent second product stack, as the first product stack is moved to the discharge channel.14. The present invention relates to a unit for sorting paper sheets capable of guiding paper sheets being transferred to one direction of three directions. The paper sheet distinguishing unit (10) sorting paper sheets being transferred and guiding the paper sheets to one guide passage of three guide passages comprises a first sorting means (11) and a second sorting means (12) spaced apart from each other in a predetermined distance to sort the paper sheets. A guide passage (2) is formed between the first sorting means (11) and the second sorting means (12). A first guide passage (1) is formed outside the first sorting means (11). A third guiding passage (3) is formed outside the second sorting means (12). The first sorting means (11) is operated by power transferred from the outside to guide the paper sheets to the first guiding passage (1), and the second sorting means (12) is operated by the power transferred from the outside to guide the paper sheets to the third guide passage (3). The first sorting means (11) and the second sorting means (12) are reversely operated by the power transferred from the outside to guide the paper sheets to the second guide passage (2).
