Many buildings nowadays do not have the luxury of being able to regularly take an elevator system out of service to perform a giant magneto-resistance (GMR) scan of an entire length of the belt from which an elevator car is suspended. One method to avoid this inconvenience involves performing GMR scans of segments of the belt during the course of everyday passenger traffic and compiling data associated with different segments into a complete GMR profile for the belt. Stall condition in an elevator is potentially dangerous situation if it causes slack to the ropes of the elevator. In such situation a counterweight or elevator car does not move even if the hoisting machine is still operating. This situation may be prevented by stopping the elevator as early as possible after detecting such stall condition. The detection of the stall condition is based on monitoring the torque generated by the hoisting machine of the elevator. When rapid change in the torque is detected a stall condition is suspected. The elevator may be stopped or an alarm may be launched when the stall condition is suspected.

The invention relates to a system for detecting an out-of-operation state of an elevator system. The system comprising: a signalization sensor unit, at least one actuation sensor device, and a monitoring unit. The signalization sensor unit is configured to obtain signalization traffic data of at least one control system bus of the elevator system. The at least one actuation sensor device is configured to obtain actuation output data of at least one actuator entity of the elevator system followed by the obtained signalization traffic data. The monitoring unit configured to: generate reference actuation output data followed by the obtained signalization traffic data by applying a machine learning module, and generate a signal indicating an out-of-operation state of the elevator system to an external computing entity, in response to a detection of a deviation between the obtained output data and the generated reference output data. An elevator operating device for a floor comprises a touch-sensitive screen. Call symbols are displayed on a user interface, one of which has to be touched in order to input a character stored for this call symbol. In order to enter a two-digit destination floor, the passenger leaves their finger on the touch surface after inputting a first character, whereby the elevator operating device recognizes that the passenger has limited vision. The elevator operating device registers a second character if it detects a confirmation action for the second character without recognizing that the finger has been lifted from the touch surface. As long as the finger is touching the touch surface, no destination call is generated; the destination call is only generated when the passenger lifts their finger, thus indicating that the input has been completed.

The present application relates to an elevator system and a method of adapting an elevator system, the system being adapted to warn elevator users of the existence of a vertical misalignment between a floor of a lift car and a landing surface adjacent to which the lift car stops. The elevator system comprises facing parallel walls that depend vertically downwards from a leading edge of the lift car floor and a leading edge of the landing surface respectively. A luminaire is mounted on at least one of said walls at a distance below the edge of said wall so as to face the opposing wall irrespective of said vertical misalignment. Light from said luminaire illuminates said opposing walls to alert elevator users to the existence of said vertical misalignment.

A detection system is provided. The detection system includes a sensing device and a controller. The sensing device is within an elevator and in communication with the controller. The sensing device continuously monitors sound waves within the elevator and communicates the sound waves as electrical signals to the controller. The controller operates the elevator and analyses the sound waves received as the electrical signals from the sensing device to detect an emergency condition within the elevator. 1. A detection system comprising:at least one sensing device configured within an elevator and in communication with the controller, the at least one sensing device continuously monitoring sound waves within the elevator and communicating the sound waves as electrical signals to the controller; andthe controller operating the elevator and analyzing the sound waves received as the electrical signals from the at least one sensing device to detect an emergency condition within the elevator.2. The detection system of claim 1 , wherein the controller analyzes the sound waves to detect any instance of the sound waves over a threshold to determine if the emergency condition exists.3. The detection system of claim 2 , wherein the threshold is 60 dB.4. The detection system of claim 1 , wherein the controller analyzes the sound waves to detect any instance of the sound waves on a range to determine if the emergency condition exists.5. The detection system of claim 4 , wherein the range is 85 dB to 90 dB.6. The detection system of claim 1 , wherein the controller causes the elevator to stop at an immediate next floor or proceed to an emergency floor and keep the door open when the emergency condition exists.7.
