The present application is directed to the separation of a solid fraction from a fluid sample particularly a therapeutic cellular fraction from a biological sample such as a bone marrow sample by a porous filter which separates a filtration unit into an upper pre-filtration chamber into which a fluid sample requiring cell separation is introduced and a lower post-filtration chamber into which a fluid capable of transmitting an acoustic standing wave is introduced. An acoustic element is coupled to a substrate which is located within and at the bottom of the lower chamber and which resonates in response to the acoustic generating element and generates a standing wave through the two fluid phases and the filter to agitate the sample. Simultaneously, a cyclic process of vacuum draw, causes movement of the sample downwards through the filter. Vacuum pressure, fluid flow rate and frequency of vibration are controlled from a remote unit housing appropriate pumps and valves.

The oil-water separator is installed in a substantially horizontal crude oil pipeline for separating water from the oil and water mix. The separator includes a vortex and settling chamber extending downward from the pipeline. The segment of the pipeline having the separator defines a generally T-shaped configuration. Oil and water phases flowing through the pipeline drop into the chamber as it flows through the pipeline and over the chamber. The denser water tends to settle into the bottom of the chamber, while the lighter oil is entrained back into the flow through the pipeline. A sensor detects water collected in the bottom of the chamber and provides a signal to open a drain valve when sufficient water has been collected. While only a single separator serves to collect a substantial fraction of water, a series of separators may be installed along the pipe to remove more water from the oil.

The present invention relates to the chemical engineering for getting useful products from aqueous solution of electrolytes with various concentration by electrolytic method and it can be used for the production of disinfectants widely utilized in medicine, biology, and ecology. This invention solves a task of disinfectant production with the capacity of a single electrolyser amounting to 1200 litres per hour and up to 600 grams of active chlorine per hour by utilizing 3-7 gram sodium chloride (NaCl) for the production of 1 gram of active chlorine on the basis of a reliable and safe hydraulic structure. The main condition for the effective solving of the task is the initial directing of fresh water supply into the internal tubular cathode chamber for the cathode cooling purposes, before the participation in final disinfectant production process. A coolable cathode enables to increase the hold-up time of the electrolyte in the electrode chamber without application of circulation circuits improving significantly the efficiency of sodium chloride utilization. The simplicity of the method makes it possible to increase both the productivity of a single electrolyser and the efficiency of the process.

A solar-operated submersible pump pumps waste water from just under the surface of a waste water pit, through a pair of automatic backflushing filters and out misters located around the bank of the waste water pit. At a predetermined pressure across the automatic backflushing filters, the automatic backflushing filters are reverse cycled, one at a time, to backflushing particles back into the waste water pit. Methods and systems for treatment of wastewater. In some embodiments, the system may comprise one or more modules such as an electrochemical module, an electrocoagulation module, a flotation module, an evaporation module, and an ultrafiltration module. One or more detection modules may also be provided to analyze the concentration of one or more wastewater components in the wastewater. Data from such modules may be used to adjust one or more operational parameters or conditions in the treatment system. The system may also comprise one or more features designed to minimize adverse effects on the environment, such as avoiding adding chemicals to the stream, extracting salt or other chemicals for re-use, and/or use of carbon dioxide gas from on-site combustion processes. 113-. A method for treating wastewater comprising:analyzing the composition of the wastewater in real-time to produce real-time data;modifying one or more modules or parameters in a wastewater treatment system using the real-time data; andincreasing a pH of the wastewater using an electrochemical treatment process and without adding any chemicals to the wastewater.15. The method of wherein the composition of the wastewater is analyzed before the water is treated by the wastewater treatment system.16. The method of wherein analyzing the composition of the wastewater includes analyzing the composition of the wastewater using Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy.17. The method of wherein analyzing the composition of the wastewater includes analyzing the concentration of one or more constituents in the wastewater.18.
