Appts serves for the introduction of air or oxygen into the water in the form of fine bubbles. An assembly of diffuser units is installed on the bottom of a lake or large mass of water. The units are provided with parallel slits through which a dispersion of bubbles of oxygen in water is evacuated; the bubbles slowly rise to the surface. Oxygen from a common source, is supplied to the distribution pipe while water, drawn from the lake, is forced by a pump into the diffuser with its slits. The bubbles of gas are entrained by the water; a cloud of bubbles is formed which extends to a considerable distance from the diffuser. The appts promotes the absorption of the gas into the mass of water and reduces the loss of gas by bubbling into the atmos. The diffuser can be used for the treatment of sewage, for fermentation and other processes in which a gas has to be diffused into a large mass of liq.

The water aeration system using a renewable energy source is a self-contained unit having a float and a perforated diffuser plate positioned below the float. An electrically powered air pump is installed atop the structure, and a device for collecting renewable energy also extends above the structure. An aeration device includes a foam suppression system. The aeration device raises the level of oxygen and air in a body of substantially liquid fluid, such as an aerating-oxidizing pond, lagoon, basin, or reservoir. The aeration system is buoyant and floats on top of the body of fluid. The foam suppression system includes a submersible grinder pump coupled to a sprinkler head by a fluid conduction system. A mixing apparatus is disclosed for ponds and other shallow bodies of water. The apparatus uses air flow to entrain and move large volumes of water up and through the mixer.
