Die vorliegende Erfindung gibt ein opakes hochschlagfestes Methylmethacrylat-Butadien-Styrol(MBS)-Polymer zur Verbesserung der Schlagfestigkeit von Polyvinylchlorid (PVC) und ein Herstellungsverfahren dafür an und gehört zum technischen Gebiet der Herstellung von PVC-Zusätzen. Das durch die vorliegende Erfindung angegebene MBS schließt, bezogen auf Masse, die folgenden Komponenten ein: 80-95 % Kernschicht;, 4-20 % Schalenschicht und 0,001-0,05 % Schutzkolloid, wobei die Kernschicht ein Polymer aus Butadien (B) und Styrol (S) ist; die Schalenschicht eines oder ein Copolymer aus zwei oder drei von S, Acrylat und Methylmethacrylat (MMA) ist; das Schutzkolloid eines oder eine Verbindung aus zwei oder drei von Polyvinylalkohol (PVA), Gelatine und Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) einschließt. Die vorliegende Erfindung löst die Probleme der geringen Schlagfestigkeit in dem heutigen MBS-Produkt und der schwierigen Koagulation oder Versprühung im Nachbehandlungsprozess.

Mouldable rubber-containing compositions are obtained by polymerizing a mixture of a styrene and methyl methacrylate in the presence of a diene synthetic rubber which constitutes at least 5% by weight of the final product, and subjecting the product so obtained to a hot rolling or mastication treatment. Rubbers specified are butadiene-styrene copolymers and polychloroprene. Styrenes specified are styrene itself, alpha-methyl styrene, vinyl toluene and chlorostyrenes. The polymerization may be carried out with the rubber in solution in the monomer mixture, in solution in a common solvent with the monomer mixture, or in dispersion. In the paste composition which includes the reducing agent a photoinitiator may be preferably included. A handheld mixing dispenser useful in carrying out this method, includes a static mixing conduit, and two containers enclosing the polymerizable paste compositions. The static mixing conduit encloses a static mixing member. The containers are adapted to be connected in fluid flow communication with the static mixing conduit. In the paste composition which includes the reducing agent a photoinitiator may be preferably included. Each container is sufficiently oxygen permeable to maintain inhibition of polymerization of the polymerizable paste composition therein for at least 12 months at 23°C.
