The said latex dipping process allows low manufacturing cost, high productivity and low rejection rate bladders having uniform weight varying from 500 mg/inch2 to 1.5 g/inch2, modulus varying from 17 to 20 Kg/Cm2, tensile strength of 150-180 Kg/Cm2 and elongation at break 650-750%..

Polymers or copolymers of vinyl chloride or vinylidene chloride are plasticized by a copolymerization product of 30 to 80 parts of a butadiene-1,3 hydrocarbon with 20 to 70 parts of an acrylic nitrile, the product having a molecular weight below 85,000 and a Mooney viscosity below 35 as determined by means of the Mooney Viscosimeter using the 1.5 inch rotor after four minutes at 212 DEG F. The vinyl chloride or vinylidene chloride may be copolymerized with each other or with minor amounts of other compounds containing a single double bond, e.g. vinyl acetate, propionate and butyrate, methyl acrylate, methacrylate and ethacrylate, ethyl acrylate, diethyl maleate and monochlormaleate, styrene and ethylene. A blend of butadiene/acrylonitrile rubber latex with vinyl chloride resin latex is made alkaline to a pH of 9-12 with potassium hydroxide and heat treated at 250 DEG -350 DEG F. in a pressure vessel with agitation till the resinous particles coalesce with the rubbery particles but the latex does not coagulate. After heat treatment the latex is made alkaline again with potassium hydroxide and may be stored or cast as a film and dried in air at 70 DEG C. The vinyl chloride resin may be a homopolymer or a copolymer with up to 20% of any copolymerizable monomer such as diethyl maleate. A heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride such as dibutyl tin dilaurate may be added. The product may be used to back carpets (see Group VIII).

A latex of a carboxyl group-containing nitrile rubber contains an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer unit in a content of 8 to 60 wt % and having an iodine value of 120 or less, wherein the total content of potassium and sodium contained in the latex is 2,300 to 10,000 ppm by weight with respect to the whole latex. 1. A latex of a carboxyl group-containing nitrile rubber containing an α ,β-ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer unit in a content of 8 to 60 wt % , and having an iodine value of 120 or less ,wherein the total content of potassium and sodium contained in the latex is 2,300 to 10,000 ppm by weight with respect to the whole latex.2. A crosslinking agent which is based on an aluminate complex salt of a hydroxyl group-containing organic compound, which crosslinks a carboxy group and a nitrile group. When the crosslinking agent is added to a carboxy group-denatured NBR latex, gloves having flexibility and a strength comparable to those of natural rubber gloves can be manufactured. Furthermore, the excellent creep resistance is a big characteristic.
