The present disclosure provides methods and materials for oligomerization of lower olefins (e.g., C 2 -C 8 ) to transportations fuels including diesel and/or jet fuel. The oligomerization employs, in certain embodiments, tungstated zirconium catalysts. Surprisingly, the oligomerizations proceed smoothly in high yields and exhibit little to no sensitivity to the presence of significant amounts of oxygenates (e.g., water, lower alcohols such as C 2 -C 8 alcohols) in the feed stream. Accordingly, the present disclosure is uniquely suited to the production of fuels derived from bio-based alcohols, wherein olefins produced from such bio-based alcohols typically contain high levels of oxygenates.

Provided is a hydrocarbon tar. The tar has 75 wt % or more of aromatics of 10 carbons to 75 carbons based on the total weight of the tar. The aromatics exhibit 40% to 80% aromaticity. The process further includes hydrocracking the hydrotreated coal tar stream to further hydrogenate the aromatic compounds and to crack at least one ring of multi-ring aromatic compounds to form single-ring aromatic compounds. The single-ring aromatic compounds present in the hydrocracked stream are then dealkylated to remove alkyl groups containing two or more carbon atoms.

Tar oils; lubricants for machinery.-Low temperature tar or fractions separated therefrom by distillation, freezing out, or other physical process, are treated with halogen compounds which split off constituents containing hydroxyl and hydrosulphide groups. Halogen compounds specified are phosgene, boron trichloride, phosphorus oxychloride, phosphorus sulphochloride, other chlorides of phosphorus, silicon tetrachloride, chromyl chloride, sulphuryl chloride, and chlorides of tin, antimony, arsenic, and bismuth. Preferably the tar &c. is neutralized by lyes and dehydrated before treatment at ordinary temperature and pressure. Raised or reduced pressure with cooling or heating and in presence of solvents for crude tar may be employed. The resulting mixtures are distilled to remove hydrogen halides and light hydrocarbons, the residues containing high boiling constituents of the tar and the aryl compounds formed being used for many purposes, e.g. as lubricants when arylated compounds, of tin, phosphorus, or silicon are present. 本发明公开了一种基于中温煤沥青为原料来制备中间相沥青的方法。首先通过对中温煤沥青进行预热缩聚反应、精密热过滤和切割轻组分处理得到极低喹啉不溶物含量的精制煤沥青,再将该精制中温煤沥青在反应温度400~460℃、压力3~5MPa,搅拌转速50~500r/min下热缩聚反应1~10h,制得中间相沥青。本发明采用一体化设备可以同时完成热缩聚和热过滤等操作,辅助简单的轻组分切割和干燥工艺制备出优质中间相沥青,简化了生成工艺,降低了生产成本,得到的中间相沥青产率在10~30%,该沥青灰分含量低且光学组织结构优良。

Abstract of the Disclosure A process for purification of coal comprises forming an aqueous leaching solution containing nitric and hydrofluoric acid. Impurities are removed by contacting coal having a mesh size not greater than 8 (Tyler Series) with the leaching solution for a period of 15 to 120 minutes at a temperature of 20 to 100°C. During the contacting of coal with leaching solution, a gaseous material such as air can be bubbled therethrough to provide additional mixing action and oxidant material. There-after, the solution is removed and the leached coal washed with water.
