In another aspect of the invention, the liquid compositions consist essentially of (A) at least one fluorine-containing hydrocarbon, and (B) at least one ester of (I) at least one polyhydroxy compound described herein and (II) at least one combination of carboxylic acylating agents as described herein. The lubricant may additionally contain (C) an additive selected from the group consisting of an alkyl phosphite, an alkyl phosphonic acid ester, a nitrogen-containing heterocycle, and a mixture thereof. Liquid compositions also are described wherein the fluorine containing hydrocarbons also contain other halogen such as chlorine. The liquid compositions are useful particularly as refrigeration liquids in refrigerators and air-conditioners including automotive, home and industrial air-conditioners.

Branched diesters and methods of making and using the same

The disclosure generally provides branched diester compounds having exceptional low-temperature and flow properties. The disclosure also provides uses of the branched diester compounds in lubricant compositions, for example, as a base oil, and in other applications where their low-temperature and flow properties can be employed beneficially. The disclosure also provides efficient and green methods for making the branched diester compounds. In certain embodiments, a vegetable oil-based diester (1,6-hexyldioleate) was branched with propanoic acid (C3) using a green synthetic approach involving solvent-free and catalyst-free epoxide ring opening followed by in situ normal esterification. A total of three branched ester derivatives possessing varied numbers of internal protruding branched ester groups and hydroxyl groups were obtained. All of the pure branched derivatives were comprised of mixtures of positional isomers and/or stereoisomers. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) showed that regardless of the composition inhomogeneity of each branched derivative, crystallization was suppressed completely in all of the branched compounds, and they all demonstrated glass transitions below −65° C. Without being bound by any theory, it is believed that this unique thermal behavior is attributed to the internal protruding branched moieties and hydroxyl groups, which dramatically slowed down mass transfer starting with the least branched compound (2-branched derivative). The viscosity of the branched compounds was one order of magnitude larger than that of the starting di ester due to the increased branching and increased resistance to flow associated with hydrogen bonding introduced by the OH groups. Um óleo lubrificante compreendendo uma mistura por adição dos seguintes componentes: (A) um material de base de éster de álcool complexo que compreende o produto da reação de uma mistura por adição do seguinte: (1) um composto de polihidroxila representado pela fórmula geral: R(OH)~ n~, na qual R é qualquer um grupo hidrocarbila alifático ou ciclo-alifático e n é, pelo menos, 2, contanto que o referido grupo hidrocarbila contenha a partir de cerca de 2 até 20 átomos de carbono; (2) um ácido polibásico ou um anidrido de um ácido polibásico, contanto que a proporção de equivalentes do referido ácido polibásico para os equivalentes de álcool do referido composto de polihidroxila esteja na faixa entre cerca de 1,6:1 até 2:1, e (3) um álcool monoídrico, contanto que a proporção de equivalentes do referido álcool monoídrico para os equivalentes do referido ácido polibásico esteja na faixa entre cerca de 0,84:1 até 1,2 ;1; em que o referido éster de álcool complexo exiba uma viscosidade na faixa entre cerca de 100 a 700 cSt a 40°C e tenha uma concentração do éster do ácido polibásico de menos que ou igual a 70 por cento em peso, com base no referido éster de álcool complexo; e (B) pelo menos um material de base adicional.

本发明提供了一种高粘度酯类基础油设计及其制备方法;所设计并合成的高粘度酯类基础油为“桥联型”新戊基多元醇酯,具有式(I)所示的结构;在式(I)中,n为聚合度,n 0 为二元羧酸的碳原子数,n 1 、n 2 和n 3 为支链数,其中0≤n 1 ≤3,0≤n 2 ≤3,2≤(n 1 +n 2 )≤3,1≤n 3 ≤2;R、R 1 和R 2 为不同的烷基,R i 为R 1 或R 2 。本发明从分子构型设计、酯化催化剂、合成工艺及精制方法四方面入手,设计并合成了“桥联型”新戊基多元醇酯。该油品可作为环保型高性能润滑油基础油使用。与文献报道的高粘度酯类基础油不同,本发明设计的“桥联型”新戊基多元醇酯的分子构型更为合理,在保持较好粘温性能与低温流动性的前提下,具有极高的储存稳定性。
