Quaternary ammonium, betaine, or sulfobetaine compositions derived from fatty amines, wherein the fatty amine is made by reducing the amide reaction product of a metathesis-derived C-Cmonounsaturated acid, octadecene-1,18-dioic acid, or their ester derivatives and a secondary amine, are disclosed. Quaternary ammonium, betaine, or sulfobetaine compositions derived from fatty amidoamines, wherein the amidoamine is made by reacting of a metathesis-derived C-Cmonounsaturated acid, octadecene-1,18-dioic acid, or their ester derivatives and an aminoalkyl-substituted tertiary amine, are also disclosed. The quaternized compositions are advantageously sulfonated or sulfated. In one aspect, the ester derivative of the C-Cmonoun-saturated acid or octadecene-1,18-dioic acid is a lower alkyl ester. In other aspects, the ester derivative is a modified triglyceride made by self-metathesis of a natural oil or an unsaturated triglyceride made by cross-metathesis of a natural oil with an olefin. The quaternary ammonium, betaine, and sulfobetaine compositions and their sulfonated or sulfated derivatives are valuable for a wide variety of end uses, including cleaners, fabric treatment, hair conditioning, personal care (liquid cleansing products, conditioning bars, oral care products), antimicrobial compositions, agricultural uses, and oil field applications. 1. CLEANING PRODUCT

Автор: SY Von Ryan
Принадлежит:

The invention is a detergent solution for cleaning a receptacle for milk or liquid milk-derived products, the detergent solution comprising water, one or more types of surfactant and an odour absorbing compound. The surfactants are provided to dissolve greasy milk-based residues from the receptacle and the odour absorbing compound is provided to neutralise odours produced by any remaining milk-based residues not removed by the surfactants. The detergent solution is water-based so that it can be rinsed off easily in a sink in the home. The detergent solution is particularly suited to plastic receptacles because plastic is more prone to accumulating mal-odour producing bacteria. This is because a plastic surface is more porous than glass so it is more difficult to remove greasy residues from a plastic surface and therefore grease can build up in the pores, out of the reach of surfactants, and provide a place for odour-producing bacteria to grow. An odour absorbing compound does not remove the residue but can neutralise the odours from the residue. The invention also discloses a method for dispensing a detergent solution comprising at least one surfactant, the method comprising ejecting detergent solution from a reservoir in the form of a spray, wherein the surfactant is present in the detergent solution in an amount of from 3% to 15% by weight of the detergent solution. The invention discloses also a method of cleaning a receptacle for milk, or liquid milk-derived products, the method comprising: spraying a detergent solution comprising at least one surfactant onto the receptacle, wherein the surfactant is present in the detergent solution in an amount of from 3% to 15% by weight of the detergent solution. 1. Certain fatty acid amide-based surfactants such as cocamide DEA (also known as “coco(nut) diethanolamide” or “coco(nut) DEA”) when dissolved or dispersed in a cutting oil (diesel, light cycle oil, naphtha, and such other petroleum distillates) produce a petroleum distillate having significantly enhanced solvency for heavy residuals. Such solutions or dispersions are especially useful for cleaning vessels and similar equipment in refineries by circulating the solution or dispersion in the vessel, optionally with the application of heat.

Commonly, the composition has a pH of no more than about 4, a viscosity of no more than about 1,500 cP at a shear rate of 10 at 25° C., and/or a viscosity of at least about 250 cP at a shear rate of 50 at 25° C. (where the viscosities are determined with a Brookfield Cone/Plate viscometer). The cleaning composition may exhibit a unique sheer thinning profile, such that the composition thins less after being sprayed onto a surface and thereby providing a longer contact time than conventional cleaning products.

The oil dispersant product is a non-toxic, solvent-free composition which efficiently breaks down grease, grime and crude oil at the molecular level, by breaking down the hydrocarbon chains and preventing the oil molecules from ever reforming again. 12-. (canceled) This application is a continuation of pending application Ser. No. 13/790,879 filed Mar. 8, 2013, which is a continuation of pending U.S. Pat. No. 8,415,286, issued on Apr. 9, 2013, the contents of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. This invention relates to a solvent free, non-toxic oil dispersant product and a method for its production. The oil industry's preferred method of marine spill response in the United States is the use of chemical dispersants. The use of such dispersants serves a useful purpose since it does cause the oil to sink out of sight, eliminating the severity of surface associated phenomenon such as oil soaked birds and the like. Unfortunately, many of the dispersants listed in the EPA National Contingency Plan's Product Schedule have inherent toxicity issues, which often times exacerbate the problem. As a result of their application, the oil/dispersant mixture is brought to much lower depths, where the presence of this toxic blend causes a variety of problems over time. The problem with dispersants is illustrated by what has been occurring in the Gulf of Mexico subsequent to the BP oil spill. The testing authorities often use outdated and minimal testing procedures for dispersants, which results in an underestimation of the chemicals' impacts to marine and human life. Many of the reported chemicals in dispersants are known human health hazards; as are many of the proprietary chemicals incorporated therein. Dispersants have been linked, or heavily implicated, with the widespread occurrences of ...

Acidic hard surface cleaner with glycine betaine amide

Номер: US20180327692A1
Принадлежит: SC Johnson and Son Inc

Provided are cleaning compositions that may include (a) a glycine betaine amide, (b) an acidifying agent, (c) polysaccharide thickener, and (d) water. Commonly, the glycine betaine amide may include one or more compounds of formula (I): Me3N+—CH2—C(0)—NH—R X− (I) wherein R is an aliphatic group having 8 to 22 carbon atoms and X″ represents an inorganic or organic anion. The cleaning composition may exhibit a unique sheer thinning profile, such that the composition thins less after being sprayed onto a surface and thereby provides a longer contact time than conventional products.
