This device is easily produced by associating known microorganisms, either alone or together with a binding agent and other biologically acceptable additives and preservatives, with the sample transfer portion of the inoculation device. When substantially all of the water is removed from an inoculation device, including known microorganisms, the microbial containing device is storable for extended periods under sterile, dry conditions substantially free of water. The present method and apparatus conveniently and economically produces a disposable standard inoculation device useful by clinical laboratories in storing and transferring microorganisms to various growth media for testing or cell maintenance programs.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention is concerned with a method and equipment for processing of organic materials containing nitrogen compounds, where the organic material undergoes an anaerobic digestion with simultaneous liberation of biogas which contains methane and carbon dioxide. The liquid product obtained after anaerobic digestion is, according to the invention, heated to boiling temperature, ammonia bonded as carbonate is distilled off, and the tail product from distillation is further processed to a valuable product and clear water or is discharged as prepurified waste water. During the processing to the valuable product in the form of organo-phosphate-lime concentrate, the tail product of distillation may be alkalized by lime and carbonized with carbon dioxide. Biogas or carbon dioxide obtained by distillation may be used in the carbonation. The processed organic materials may be excrements from farming of hogs and black cattle, waste from chemical and alimentary industry, city sewage sludges, and various kinds of biomass which may be employed in the process of anaerobic digestion for production of biogas.

A system and method to treat biomass to make bioproducts such as biofuels and biochemical is disclosed. The systems are configured to treat a liquid component separated from biomass to yield sugars available to form a fermentation product or bio-product. The system and method comprises treatment and separation of process streams (e.g. liquids, solids, etc.) to produce bioproducts such as fuel and biochemical as well as to recover/reuse and utilize content of process streams. Lignin is separated from the bioproduct stream (e.g. a solids component) forming a recovered bioproducts; efficient removal of lignin facilitates productive operation of the system. The system disclosed is configured to recover and recycle acid (e.g. phosphoric acid) used as a concentrated acid in the process to pre-treat biomass (for bioprocessing). The acid used in the process is recycled and recovered in order to establish economically attractive biorefinery to make bio-products from biomass (e.g. to reduce the cost of operation such as from supply of fresh acid). Concentrated acid used to pre-treat biomass may comprise about 90 to over 98 percent recovered acid (and 10 to less than 2 percent fresh acid). The recovery and recycle process for the acid (e.g. acid used to pre-treat biomass) may comprise one or more of the inventive concepts and features shown and described in the FIGURES and specification.

The tanks are connected through branch pipes with the hydromixing system. The chipper has a receiving bin, and the output for the used bioreactor biomass is provisioned with the receiving vessel. The complex is supplemented with the unit for pellet fabrication, with the possibility of its work in a mode of fabrication of pellets from green vegetative mass, planted in the biopond, or in the mode of fabrication of pellets from biomass processed in the reactor. The unit for fabrication of pellets consists of the pressing-out unit, and the liquid discharge branch pipe of the pressing-out unit is connected with the possibility of adjustment with the homogenizer of the unit for production of gaseous biofuel or with the biopond. The solid fraction output of the pressing-out unit is connected with granulator, the output of which is connected with the packaging line for two kinds of pellets.
