... 130,753. Stibbe, G. Aug. 6, 1918. Knitted fabrics.-A double fabric comprises two independently knitted webs a, b, one overlying the other, united by an independent binding-thread c, the binding-loops of which may or may not be formed into stitches with the loops of the webs. To reduce or eliminate the lateral elasticity of the fabric and render it suitable for cloth, an unknitted restraining thread d is laid in between the walls of the fabric. The, fabric is formed on a multifeed circular machine having two sets of needles, e.g. cylinder and dial, the dial needles alone taking yarn at m, Fig. 3, at a feeder 1 to form the web b. whilst the cylinder needles alone take yarn at u at the feeder 2 to form the web a, the dial needles being projected at the feeder 2 to engage the binding-yarn c at o, which binding-yarn is laid below the latches of the cylinder needles and is knocked over without forming stitches. During the advance of the dial needles at the next feeder, the loops of binding-yarn ...

As shown dial and cylinder stitches are produced in alternate courses. The cylinder and dial needles are arranged alternately. The cylinder needles are all of the same length butt, while two long butt dial needles are arranged between each two short butt dial needles. A 3 x 1 rib is produced thereby. A modification is described showing a 2 x rib formed by arranging one long and one short butt dial needles alternately.

A straight bar knitting machine for cabling has fewer transfer points than the number of wales over which the cable extends, and the cabling operation is carried out over a number of transfers. Two adjacent needles on one side of the wale group are transfer and doubled onto one needle on the other side, while two adjacent loops from that other side are transposed to the first side. In the embodiment shown two adjacent transfer points 1, 2 moving in unison over a maximum of 3 needle spaces effect a cable on 6 wales. Loops 2L, 3L originally on the second and third. Needles are doubled-operation S2- and moved in two operations S4, S8 to needle 5. Loops L4 and 5 are doubled on needle 2 and loop L6 is transferred to needle 3. A PATTERNED KNITWEAR PRODUCT FOR USE AS A GARMENT, IN PARTICULAR OF THE SWEATER TYPE

Номер: CA0002255281A1
Принадлежит:

For the production of colour patterned knitwear products of the sweater type it is customary to use the same type of yarn, only coloured differently. With the invention, use is made of different yarns of natural materials with their associated characteristic natural colours, as it is a purpose to entirely avoid artificially coloured yarns. The different sub areas, consisting e.g. of cotton, silk and flax, will then exhibit different physical properties, e.g. with respect to rigidity and body friendliness, and in order to outbalance these differences the sub areas are provided with a platination at their inner sides consisting of a compensating mesh layer of a relevant natural yarn, e.g. a cotton or silk layer for making a flax area more body friendly or a cotton layer for mechanically stabilizing a slack silk area. In practice, a cotton layer is well suited as an overall platination layer.

Printing.--Knitted fabrics with ornamental effects are obtained by re-knitting yarn obtained by de-knitting a printed knitted fabric, the re-knitted fabrics being preferably of a width different from that of the original fabric. The following examples are specified: --(1) Woollen yarn dyed with Cloth fast brilliant red 4B is knitted into strips which are printed with Neolan black WA (1st roller) and a hydrosulphite discharge (2nd roller); the strips are then de-knitted and re-knitted to obtain a fabric with black-white effects on a red ground. (2) A mixed yarn of wool and viscose artificial silk is dyed with Alizarine fast blue BB, which does not colour the artificial silk, knitted into strips, printed with Buckthorn berry, de-knitted and re-knitted to obtain a fabric with yellow and green ornamentation on a blue-white mixed ground. (3) Knitted strips of raw wool are printed with Neolan black WA extra, de-knitted and re-knitted to obtain a fabric with grey and black ornamentation on a white ...

SPARE KNITTED MATERIALS

Номер: WO0002101135A1

The method serves for a novel two and/or three-dimensional patterning of knitted products, derived from traditional spare techniques. Spare techniques which arise as a result of ruffling, up to yet have been mainly applied to weaving technology and are labour intensive. The conversion to the knitting technique permits the machine-driven inclusion of the threads necessary for ruffling. In a knitted product threads are knitted in as tucks in a particular pattern during the production thereof. In a further step the knitted product is tightly gathered by means of the threads and then fibre-treated, such as for example, coloured, bleached or thermofixed. The points where the ruffling lies on the outside are subjected to the treatment and the appearance thereof is altered. The inner regions are protected by the tight gathering and thus remain untreated. A pattern is thus generated. With the thermofixing the material obtains a surface texture as a result of the gathering which remains of stable ...

PURPOSE: To make clear the color switching position in case that color is different, without forming knot at the connection position of threads, by connecting two threads crosswise by turning-over them and attaching the edge parts of the threads onto the basic bodies. CONSTITUTION: Two threads A and B having different colors are crossed at a connection position C and turned-over to the basic body sides 2a and 2c, and the edge parts 1a and 1b of the threads A and B are attached onto the basic bodies 2a and 2b by adhesive. When, in the vicinity of the adhesion parts 3a and 3b, the edge parts of the threads A and B and the basic bodies 2a and 2b are applied twine, adhesion effect can be markedly improved. The adhesion by adhesive, etc. is eliminated by forming the turned-over parts long and braiding the threads into cloth. Thus, since knot is not formed, appearance can be improved and the fineness of the cloth is made uniform, and enen if the color of two threads is different, the trouble ...

Disclosed is a shoe including a sole and an upper, wherein the upper includes an inner upper and an outer upper, wherein the inner upper includes 90% or more of a wool fiber and the outer upper includes a combination of 50 to 80% by weight of the wool fiber and 20 to 50% by weight of a synthetic fiber, based on the total weight of the outer upper. The shoe according to the present invention can facilitate discharge of sweat generated during exercise through the upper made of natural wool fiber and thus offer fresh wear sensation and can be worn without socks. In addition, elasticity of wool fabric can reduce resistance of shoes depending on shape change of feet during exercise or in a daily life, thus impairing foot comfort. As a result, people whose feet swell readily, such as pregnant women, can wear the shoes without irritation. Furthermore, the shoes according to the present invention are suitable for diabetic patients whose feet need to be protected from injury because they are made of wool which is a soft elastic fiber.

A conventional sock, in which a pile yarn is knitted into loops together with a polyurethane yarn has cushioning properties, but has a problem in that it cannot be used for a long period of time. According to the present invention, a first component yarn 15 a composed of two yarns, namely, a woolly nylon yarn 13 a and a cotton yarn 14 a , and a second component yarn 15 b composed of two yarns, namely, a woolly nylon yarn 13 b and a cotton yarn 14 b , are alternately knitted into float loops every 10 loops. Accordingly, the cotton yarns that are less stretchable appear on the surface, and thus cushioning properties can be improved. Also, the yarn strength can be increased by the woolly nylon yarns that are highly stretchable, and also the strength can be further increased by using the component yarns each composed of two yarns: a woolly nylon yarn; and a cotton yarn. Accordingly, the obtained sock can be used for a long period of time.
