Cellulose fibre fabrics impregnated with (A) coupling components of development dyes, are printed with (B) reactive dyes of vinyl sulphone type protected by 2-20 (3-15) g/kg. of paraformaldehyde in the printing past. Where (A) contains a reactive methylene gp., e.g. in acyl acetamino arylide coupling components, this reacts with formaldehyde and reaction with (B) which interferes with its dyeing properties is prevented. The smell of formaldehyde and its escape into the dye works, where it can affect other treated fabrics awaiting dyeing, are avoided by use of paraformaldehyde.

Dyes of the azo, anthraquinone, phthalocyanine, perylene tetracarbonamide, azine, oxazine, nitro, phthalo-and naphthalo-perinone, naphthoylene-imidazole, and quinacridone series containing at least one sulphinic group (-SO2H or salt thereof) are employed to colour textile fibres. The dyes may also contain -SO3H, -COOH, -S2O3Na and -OSO3H groups as well as known "reactive" groups. The dyes may be obtained by conversion of a sulphochloride group with a reducing agent, e.g. sodium sulphite. The nitro, acylamino or alkylamino group is subsequently reduced to a secondary amine. Textile treatment compositions are produced by a process which comprises mixing in a solvent urea, glyoxal and formaldehyde, as such or as a substance yielding formaldehyde, in a molar ratio of 1:1:2 to 2.5, to form a solution and reacting said urea, glyoxal and formaldehyde at pH of 1.5 to 6.0 and at a temperature of 25 DEG C. to 95 DEG C. for a period of 30 minutes to 72 hours. From 2 to 5 moles of a C1 to C4 alkanol may be incorporated in the solution. The preferred solvent is water. The compositions may be applied to fabrics and cured at 200 to 400 DEG F. using zinc nitrite, zirconium oxychloride, maleic anhydride magnesium chloride, oxalic acid, lactic acid and 2-amino -2- methyl -1- propanol hydrochloride as curing agents. Also disclosed is a method for preparing ramie yarn. The ramie sliver dyed according to the present invention improves the properties of ramie fibers, such that the ramie fibers are less likely to break; and the ramie fibers are less likely to harden, avoiding poor drawing, needle breakage and missing stitches during carding and coalescing in post-procedures, thus achieving the purpose of smooth yarn spinning. The present invention provides a post-fabrication modification approach for the fabrication of colored and chromic materials and sensors using plasma surface modification to covalently bind the coloring agent to the substrate, thus avoiding leaching of the dye. Advantageously, in said methods, said coloring agent is a dye or pigment linked to a radical sensitive functional group, such as an alkenyl or alkynyl functional group, and is applied to the substrate prior to the gas plasma treatment. The methods envisaged herein are generic in nature, which allow the covalent immobilization of various dyes on different materials. The covalently coated materials after plasma surface modification, particularly the covalently coated chromic materials and sensors, can be used in many different applications, such as protective textile and wound dressing applications. 1. A method of preparing a colored object comprising the steps of:(a) providing an object having a surface made up of an organic polymeric material, and, optionally, subjecting said surface of the object to a gas plasma pre-treatment step before performing step (b);(b) providing or fabricating a functionalized coloring agent, wherein said functionalized coloring agent comprises a coloring agent linked to an organic moiety having a polymerizable functional group or a thiol group;(c) applying said functionalized coloring agent on the surface of said object; and(d) subjecting said surface of the object with said functionalized coloring agent applied thereon to a non-thermal gas plasma treatment with an inert gas to form covalent bonds between said functionalized coloring agent and the organic polymeric material of the surface of the object.2. The present invention relates to a reactive dye bath and a dyeing process for textiles. The reactive dye bath for textiles comprises an organic solvent, an aqueous dye solution, a surfactant and a co-surfactant. The present invention relates to a phase-transfer catalytic colour fixation processing method for a textile. The processing method comprises the following steps: dyeing a natural fibre textile in a supercritical carbon dioxide fluid waterless dyeing system using a disperse reactive dye, and then realizing a reaction fixation of the dye on the fibres using a phase transfer catalyst in the supercritical carbon dioxide fluid. Since the method utilizes the action of the phase-transfer catalyst in the colour fixation stage, an ionized colour fixation reaction accelerator and the like is effectively transferred to the supercritical carbon dioxide colour fixation fluid and solid-phase fibres, thus improving the nucleophilic reactivity of the functional group on the fibres, achieving the colour fixation reaction between the fibres and the dye in the supercritical carbon dioxide fluid conditions, and improving the colour fixation efficiency of the dye on the fibres. The technical method provided by the invention realizes the reaction fixation of the dye on the fibres in hydrophobic fluid conditions, and has the advantages of a high colour fixation efficiency, a simple process, being green and environmentally friendly and the like. 1. Process for the continuous dyeing of textile webs made from cellulose fibers or wool, or mixtures containing such fibers, with reactive or sulfur dyestuffs in reduced form, or with reactive or acid dyestuffs, which comprises preheating the textile material to temperatures of from 97° to 104° C. by means of IR radiators or microwaves while maintaining a residual moisture corresponding at least to the water retention amount (normal humidity) of the fibers, and subsequently treating it with steam for 10 to 300 seconds without applying additional pressure, in order to fix the dyestuffs.
