An improved process for the dyeing and/or printing of cellulosic materials and blends thereof with hydrophobic fibres employs disperse dyes in conjunction with a defined polymer forming compound containing a group OCO(CH2)1.5 SSO3<->X<+> and optionally a defined water-soluble or water-miscible organic compound. The present invention also relates to cellulosic materials or blends thereof with hydrophobic fibres whenever dyed and/or printed by such a process. The process of this invention does not require the use of a cross-linking catalyst. Further, the dyed and/or printed material has an excellent sort handle and there are no objectionable fumes produced during the fixation stage of the dyeing process.

Transfer printing process

Номер: CH0000618825A
Принадлежит:

Textile material composed of cellulose fibres or a mixture of cellulose fibres with synthetic or cellulosic (regenerated, semisynthetic) fibres is pretreated, from an aqueous liquor, with a copolymer. The copolymer contains copolymerised units of maleic acid or derivatives thereof which have a functionally modified carboxyl group. Then the textile material, normally after predrying, is subjected to transfer printing with dyes or optical brighteners. This produces a uniform and level dyeing not only in the synthetic or cellulosic fibre portion but also in the cellulose fibre portion. The textile material does not need to be washed before printing.

Textile sheet materials consisting wholly or partly of cellulose, natural polyamide or glass fibres are dyed and/or printed with disperse dyes by heat transfer or thermofixing following a pretreatment. The pretreatment is by impregnation with an aqueous liquor that contains a disperse dye solvent comprising a water-miscible organic cellulose-swelling agent with a boiling point of above 140 DEG C, a crosslinking agent comprising a reactant resin, and a disperse-dyeable high polymer that is fixable to the fibre materials mentioned, and subsequent drying. This pretreatment results in dyeings and prints having improved rub and/or wet fastness properties, a higher colour yield and improved handle, while the odour nuisance is minimal and application is simplified.

A process for improving the properties, particularly the dyeing properties, of cellulose fibers. The process comprises impregnating cellulose fiber with an aromatic acyl halide and thereafter immersing the impregnated fiber into an aqueous solution containing more than about 10% by weight of an alkali hydroxide to acylate the cellulose fiber on the surface portion thereof. In another embodiment of the invention, a continuous process for improving the properties of cellulose fiber yarn of fabric is provided. According to the continuous process, uniform acylation is achieved by maintaining the yarn or fabric in a stretched state during impregnation with the aromatic acyl halide and during the initial stages of immersion in the aqueous alkali hydroxide. The acylated cellulose fiber produced according to the invention may be dyed with good color fastness with disperse dyes and still retain the soft tactility characteristic of the fiber.

Принадлежит: SICPA HOLDING SA

The transfer sheet or web is intended for the use in a heat transfer printing process of cotton, of cotton-polyester blend or of nitrogen containing textile fibers such as wool, silk or nylon. It comprises on its surface at least one organic impregnating agent which has a melting point between 60° and 230° C. and is no polymer, at least one water insoluble, non-subliming dyestuff, and the minimum amount of a binder. The dyestuff forms a pattern or image which is heat contact printed on said textile substrate without the use of carrier vapors or vacuum. The pattern to be heat transferred may also be prepared in an electrophotographic process using a new toner comprising particles of impregnating agent, binder and dyestuff. The pattern on the transfer support is transferred at a temperature between 160° and 230° C. during 30 to 60 seconds to said textile substrate. The printings obtained have very good light, rubbing and washing fastnesses; the handling is not impaired.

Pretreating support for transfer thermoprinting - by impregnating or coating with plasticised polyvinyl acetate resin

Номер: FR2470685A1
Принадлежит: Gilbert Schuhl

Supports are pretreated to be subsequently thermoprinted by transfer by contacting under heat and pressure with a temporary support carrying sublimable inks or dyes. The pretreatment comprises impregnating or coating the supports with a thermoplastic polyvinyl acetate resin, the novel feature being that the resin is plasticised. Process allows transfer printing or dyeing to be applied to a variety of fabrics (nonwoven, woven or knitted) in the form of strips, panels or plates and based on natural, vegetable, synthetic, animal and/or mineral fibres. In prior transfer printing was restricted to only a few synthetic fibres e.g. polyester, acrylics, polyamides. The prints have good general fastness.

Process for manufacturing retroreflective printed material

Номер: EP1431449A1

The present invention relates to a retroreflective printed product on fabrics for use in clothing, sportswear, footwear and accessories with a light-reflecting effect, with good design flexibility which ensure trend-setting fashion sense as well as safety sense due to high visibility. More particularly, the invention deals with a continuous, flexible printing process without pollution and effluence, which use a printed mono-or multi-coloured design on paper base or other plastic base to be transferred over the surface of a layer (20) of glass microspheres (1) that are partially embedded in a support sheet (2) and coated with a very thin layer (5) of transparent thermo-adhesive bi-component polyurethane.

Process for modifying cellulosic fabrics for improved heat transfer printing

Номер: US4365966A
Принадлежит: US Department of Agriculture USDA

This invention relates to the transfer printing of cellulosic fabric by in situ polymerization of monomers to form polyamides and polyesters. The process involves treating the fabric with a diamine or bisphenol and then treating with a diacid chloride, drying, rinsing with neutralizing agent, and then heat transfer printing the fabric after drying. The reverse procedure can also be employed in which case the fabric is treated initially with the diacid chloride.

Transfer printing sheet and transfer printing of textile materials

Номер: EP0146504B1
Принадлежит: SICPA HOLDING SA

The transfer sheet or web is intended for the use in a heat transfer printing process of cotton, of cotton-polyester blend or of nitrogen containing textile fibers such as wool, silk or nylon. It comprises on its surface at least one organic impregnating agent which has a melting point between 60 and 230°C and is no polymer, at least one water insoluble, non-subliming dyestuff, and the minimum amount of a binder. The dyestuff forms a pattern or image which is heat contact printed on said textile substrate without the use of carrier vapours or vacuum. The pattern to be heat transferred may also be prepared in an electrophotographic process using a new toner comprising particles of impregnating agent, binder and dyestuff. The pattern on the transfert support is transferred at a temperature between 160 and 230°C during 30 to 60 seconds to said textile substrate. The printings obtained have very good light, rubbing and washing fastnesses; the handling is not impaired.

Combined dyeing and printing of cellulose textiles - by transfer printing with disperse dyes after pretreatment with precondensate

Номер: DE2754653A1
Автор: Robert Daul
Принадлежит: Schloss Holte Druck Epping & S

Combined dyeing and printing of textile substrates made at least partly of cellulose fibres comprises first treating the textiles with a precondensate (A) (or with (A) and alkylene oxide adducts). The treated substrate is then transfer printed with disperse dyes. Pref. dyes are those forming strong can der Waals' bonds with cellulose. Used e.g. for cotton and polyester-cellulose blends. The printed materials have good storage stability and there is no need to leave the dye solvent on the fabric and it can be removed withoug worsening the fastness. Fastness is comparable to that achieved on native fibres with substantive dyes and can be further improved by crosslinking.
