Предложен композиционный магнитосорбент для удаления нефти, нефтепродуктов и масел с поверхности воды, представляющий собой пористую матрицу на основе шелухи целлюлозосодержащих отходов растениеводства с размерами пор 0,5-1,3 мм, характеризующийся тем, что он дополнительно содержит пыль газоочистки стальную незагрязненную с размером частиц 5-10 мкм, распределенную в шелухе как на внешней поверхности матрицы, так и в ее порах, при этом тонкоизмельченная шелуха подсолнечника составляет 35-50 мас.%, пыль газоочистки стальная незагрязненная - 25-40 мас.% и связующее парафин - 10-40 мас.%. A method for retracting oil on a water surface, and a method for reducing the quantity of oil on an oil control boom are described. Spreading of oil can be reversed by reducing the surface tension of the seawater, for example by using a low concentration of a water-soluble surfactant, such as a non-ionic surfactant. A controlled amount of the surfactant may be continuously discharged at the inner-wall of a spill control boom surrounding the oil spill. The spilled oil is caused to retract away from the boom toward the center of the area encircled thereby, such that the oil layer becomes sufficiently thick to be more effectively removed mechanically. The surfactant also reduces the amount of oil on the spill control boom, whereby the boom can easily be removed from a remediated oil spill and reused at a later date without further cleaning. 1. An oil spill cleanup device is described. The device includes a container and at least one flexible hollow elongated member extending from the container. The device floats in water and can be used to collect and separate oil from the contaminated water. Water is collected by the elongated member, which has several exterior one-way valves that allow contaminated water to enter the member. The contaminated water is pushed towards and into the container by the wave motions of the surrounding water. The elongated member has internal one-way valves that help to direct the contaminated water towards the container. Once in the container, the contaminated water can separate into water and oil due to differences in specific gravity. Methods for reducing the size of an oil slick on a water surface or on a water surface when ice is present are described. Spreading of oil can be reversed by reducing the surface tension of the seawater, for example, by using a low concentration of at least one water-soluble surfactant, such as a non-ionic surfactant. A controlled amount of the surfactant or surfactant mixture may be discharged over time at the inner-wall of a spill control boom surrounding the oil spill, or within the vicinity of the oil spill in the absence of control booms using a soaker hose or a floating polyethylene or polypropylene hose impregnated with surfactant, whereby the confinement and contraction of the oil slick is maintained by compensating for dissolved surfactant and surfactant moving away from the oil slick. Water-soluble surfactants are typically solids or gels at low temperatures when no organic co-solvent is added to the surfactant. The solid or gel form is advantageous for generating slow, but continuous release of surfactant, and thus there is no need for an organic co-solvent. This is not the situation for oil-soluble surfactants, which require an organic co-solvent to be successfully applied at low temperatures. Mixing oil-soluble surfactants with water-soluble surfactants may overcome the problem of dispersing oil-soluble surfactant without an organic co-solvent at low temperatures.

A process is provided for the determination of oil dispersant effectiveness. A submersible dispersant sensing platform is passed across a body of water. The platform has a plurality of sensors including a multichannel fluorometer and a particle size analyser, and each sensor produces an output data stream. The body of water is continuously analysed at a predetermined depth profile below the surface of the body of water. Hydrodynamic and environmental condition data is collected proximate in time and location to the output data from the dispersant sensing platform. The environmental condition data includes one or more of ambient temperature, body or water temperature, salinity of the body of water, wind speed, location, mixing energy of the body of water and derivatives thereof. Oil and dispersant data is provided which includes characteristics of the dispersant and of oil samples prior to the application of the dispersant. The output data stream, the hydrodynamic and environmental condition data, and the oil and dispersant data is processed to generate an indicator of the state of dispersion of the oil and of the oil dispersant efficiency under the hydrodynamic and environmental conditions the oil is exposed to. A system for the determination of oil dispersant efficacy is also provided.

A waste management system, primarily intended to be for waste floating in water, though it can also be used on land. A shredding device will reduce the size of the particles of waste. Ocean water is removed by a drying device. The dried waste material is cryogenically frozen using liquid nitrogen or other suitable means. The frozen waste material is then pulverized and ground into a powder. The powder may then be sprayed into a gas-filled chamber and heated. Temperature, pressure and humidity are maintained within the chamber for more than one minute. Microwave or other radiation and catalysts may be used to enhance the process of extraction. The processed material is then removed from the chamber. Carbon and water may be recycled. The carbon may be used as fuel by the ship. Water may also be used by the ship or returned to the ocean in a non-toxic condition.

A mobile HEB and TEP mitigation device includes a mobile body capable of movement within or upon a body of water. Located within the mobile body is a hydrodynamic separation system which includes a water inlet, a hydrodynamic separation unit and a collection tank. The hydrodynamic separation unit includes two outputs, one for a clean stream output line containing clean water and arranged to re-circulate the clean water, and another for a concentrate stream output line, the concentrate stream output line configured to place concentrated water containing potentially harmful bio-organic materials into the collection tank. Also included on the mobile body is a power source and an engine/steering unit, wherein the steering portion of the engine/steering unit provides a capacity to move the mobile body in an intended direction. The mitigation device may also be used as an embedded part of an on-shore arrangement. 1. Methods for collecting petroleum or petroleum products from the surface of water include processing the surface of a film of petroleum or petroleum products using a reagent, and then collecting the product of the reaction thereof. The reagent consists in polysaccharide microgels having a mass of between 20,000 and 200,000 daltons and a particle size of between 50 and 600 nm. A device for dispersing oil on water , comprising:a rig structure for being mounted in a vessel, the rig structure including a transverse structure with nozzles for flushing with pressurized water jets supplied from a pressure facility located on the vessel,wherein a direction and a distance of the nozzles to a surface of the water as well as pressure of the pressurized water are adjustable,wherein the nozzles are rotatably arranged whereby overlapping impact areas from closely related nozzles are formed on the surface of the water, whereby dispersed oil droplets within a micron-size range are obtained such that the dispersed oil droplets can be mixed into the water by the energy created by the water jets and forward motion of the vessel.2. The device of claim 1 ,wherein the impact area from the pressurized water on the surface of the water forms an circle on the surface of the water overlapping closely related nozzles.3. The device of claim 1 ,wherein the impact area from the pressurized water on the surface of the water form an ellipse on the surface of the water overlapping closely related nozzles.4. The device of claim 1 ,wherein the nozzles are rotated by a velocity of at least 3000 rpm.5. The device of claim 1 ,wherein the distance of the nozzles to the surface of the water is between 15 and 30 cm.6. The device of claim 1 ,wherein the flushing is carried out at a pressure of at least 35 bar per nozzle.7. The present invention is directed toward a bioremediation product, its method of manufacture and method of use. A blend of microorganisms, cleansers and surfactants is disclosed which is non-toxic and solvent free, and which has the ability to accelerate the breaking down process of oils, materials such as benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTEX); petroleum hydrocarbon fractions F1-F4 (as defined by CCME2000), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), paraffin waxes, volatile organics, molds, and the like; while simultaneously providing a biological component which is effective to reduce the total petroleum hydrocarbon levels to zero at an accelerated rate. The product is useful for bioremediation and as an oil dispersant composition useful in treating oil spills, and for cleanup of the shoreline, animals, plants, and equipment.

An oil containment system aboard a vessel which includes a pneumatic system to provide power to a winch and reel assembly containing boom whereby the pneumatic supply is capable of simultaneously powering the winch-reel assembly for boom deployment through inflatable gas fed to a pneumatic motor while also inflating the boom. The inflation of the boom is accomplished by diverting, all or any portion thereof, the inflatable gas from a pneumatic supply through a hose that runs concurrently on the outside of the boom wherein appropriate rates of inflatable gas pressure are allowed to flow through the hose to feed through a valve and hose assembly that connects the inflatable gas supply of the hose to the inflatable gas containment system of the boom. The pneumatic supply originates from a single pneumatic system powering both the winch and reel assembly as well as associated brake and feeding inflatable gas pressure to the inflation hose running concurrently with the boom. The system may be manufactured in a form such that it is compact enough to be installed in, or rapidly transported to, any area or place or vessel where there is likelihood of a discharge of floating material, such as hydrocarbons, floating on a liquid surface. The present invention may also be operated through the use of pneumatic control without the benefit of electric power making it particularly useful for applications in remote areas or during a disaster when electrical power is not readily available. 1.
