Ein Stift ist mit dem Schaufelarm gekoppelt, wobei der Stift eine Bewegungshüllkurve aufweist, in welcher der Stift durch den großen Ausleger und den Schaufelarm beweglich ist. Ein Kontroller ist so konfiguriert, dass er ein erstes Positionssignal von einem ersten Auslegerpositionssensor, ein zweites Positionssignal von einem zweiten Auslegerpositionssensor und das Lastsignal von der Lastmessvorrichtung empfängt. Der Kontroller ist weiterhin so konfiguriert, dass er eine Karte der hydraulischen Kapazitäten innerhalb einer Bewegungshüllkurve berechnet.

Load skidding vehicles commonly include a grapple assembly (42) which under load conditions can pivot rearwardly about its support point (52) resulting in disproportionate loading of the rear wheels and consequently instability of the vehicle. A connecting member (62) is pivotally attached between the grapple (42) and a hydraulic cylinder (74) which is attached to the skidder (2). Operation of the hydraulic cylinder (74) causes the grapple (42) to rotate about its support pivot (52). The hydraulic cylinder (74) may be locked causing the grapple (42) to be locked in relation to the boom assembly (26). During load hauling operations this mechanism is used to lock the load in a position near the vehicle resulting in increased stability. The mechanism is also of use in positioning the grapple assembly (42) with respect to the load prior to grasping it.

The control system has a first actuator driving the first traction device and a first interface device to generate a first input indicating a desired movement of the first actuator. The control system also has a second actuator driving the second traction device and a second interface device to generate a second input indicating a desired movement of the second actuator. The control system has a controller that causes the first actuator to operate according to the first input and the second actuator to operate according to the second input when the cabin faces a first direction. A method of mounting an attachment on an arm of a material handling machine including the steps of: (a) providing an arm including a first plate, a second plate and a pair of side walls welded to each of the first plate and the second plate, the arm having a connector for pivotable mounting of the attachment at a first end of the arm and a connector for pivotable mounting to a further component of the material handling machine at a second end of the arm opposite to the first end; wherein the second plate has two opposite edges and a first of the pair of side walls is welded inward of one edge and a second of the pair of side walls is welded inward of the other edge to form two flanges, each of the two flanges extending on opposite sides of the second plate and each of the two flanges having at least one hole at each of its ends; (b) providing a bracket including a mounting plate having a pair of lugs for supporting an actuator for the attachment; the pair of lugs being positioned in a central portion of the mounting plate; and the mounting plate having at least one hole adjacent to each of its corners; (c) aligning the holes of the mounting plate with the holes on each of the pair of flanges; (d) securing the bracket on the arm by securing the mounting plate to each of the pair of the flanges by passing a fastener through each hole of the mounting plate and the corresponding hole on each of the pair of flanges; (e) mounting the actuator for the attachment on the pair of lugs; (f) mounting the attachment on the connector at the first end of the arm; and (g) connecting the actuator to the attachment.

The upper jaw is pivotally attached near its inner end on its backside to the end of a dipper stick and a double action actuator or cylinder for operative pivotal movement of the upper jaw relative to the dipper stick. An arcuate-shaped lower jaw is provided with an inner end and a backside. The lower jaw is attached near its inner end on its backside to the dipper stick by a linkage for operative pivotal movement of the upper jaw relative to the lower jaw. A hollow tubular pivot is attached to the inner end of one of the jaws with open opposing ends. Two lug plates are mounted on the inner end of the other jaw each with an eyelet. The eyelets are alignable with the open ends of the tubular pivot. A pivot pin is passed through the tubular pivot and eyelets and secured thereat.

A gripping device (16) includes a spring member (24) provided between a gripping member body (22) and a shaft (32) so that driving of a gripping driving cylinder (19) causes a driving force to be transmitted from the gripping driving cylinder (19) to the body (22) while the shaft (32) and the body (22) are held in a predetermined positional relationship; so that the body (22) is allowed to retreat with respect to the shaft (32) by elastically deforming the spring member (24) by an opposing force received from a processing object that contacts the body as a result of rotating the body (22); and so that contact pressure of the body (22) with respect to the processing object is increased by an elastic force of the spring member (24) as the body (22) retreats.
