RAINWATER GUTTER

Номер: US20130067830A1
Автор: Sharkey Oliver
Принадлежит:

The present invention relates to a rainwater gutter for mounting on a building to collect rainwater from the roof. It is shaped similar to a letter S. The rainwater flows from the roof covering onto the top section of the S shaped curved element, where, due to the contour of the gutter and surface tension will flow down from the upper curved section into the cylindrical section via the opening formed by the bottom section of the S returning to terminate as an open end close to the top section. The small opening also emits daylight thus reducing the possibility of vegetation growing in the gutter. This will reduce expensive and dangerous maintenance of eave gutters. Because the water gathered from the eave of the roof is cleaner it would reduce filtration costs for rainwater harvesting. The gutter can be formed in plastic, aluminium, copper or zinc. 1. A rainwater gutter for the removal of rainwater from a roof that will due to the shape and design allows rainwater in but omits debris from entering the rainwater gutter.2. A rainwater gutter as in for cleaner rainwater to reduce costs for filtration when used for rainwater harvesting.3. A gutter adapted to be mounted on a building claim 1 , for use in collecting rainwater claim 1 , comprising: an upper part that curves outwardly from the building, and', 'a lower part that forms a substantially cylindrical channel having an opening adjacent the top thereof and generally extending the length of the channel; and, 'a curved element having a generally S-shaped cross-section and including'}wherein, when mounted on the building for use in collecting rainwater, the rainwater is directed to flow over the upper part of the gutter, through the opening, and into the channel.4. Corrugated fine mesh material is configured to be located overlying a gutter. The fine mesh material has an upper edge opposite a lower edge with the upper edge configured to fit beneath shingles on a roof adjacent the gutter. The lower edge is configured to be held to a lip at a forward edge of the gutter. The corrugations add strength to the material and collect water at troughs thereof where the collected water more readily forms droplets that fall down into the gutter. A lower strip is preferably provided to hold the lower edge of the mesh to a lip of the gutter. An upper strip is optionally provided which includes a tab which can fit beneath shingles to the roof. A barrier such as a bead of caulk can optionally be coupled to an underside of the corrugated mesh to further encourage water droplets to fall. 1. A leaf preclusion system for a roof gutter , comprising in combination:a sheet of fine mesh material;said sheet of fine mesh material having an upper edge adapted to be located above a lower edge and with said sheet of fine mesh material overlying the roof gutter;said sheet of fine mesh material being corrugated with ridges extending at least part of the way from said upper edge to said lower edge.2. The system of wherein said ridges of said sheet of fine mesh material extend substantially perpendicular to said upper edge of said sheet of fine mesh material.3. The system of wherein said upper edge and said lower edge of said sheet of fine mesh material are oriented substantially parallel with each other.4. The system of wherein a lower support is provided adjacent said lower edge of said sheet of fine mesh material claim 1 , said lower support including a recess for receiving said lower edge of said sheet of fine mesh material therein claim 1 , said lower support adapted to be coupled to a lip at a forward edge of the gutter.5. The system of wherein said lower support includes a stop claim 4 , said stop oriented non-parallel with valleys in said sheet of ...
