A security indicator has a two part telescopic locking bar attached to the handle of a door at one end and to the door or door jamb at the other end through an end piece. The device includes a cup or tube which encases the door handle, preventing use of the handle. The length of the bar is fixed by aligning apertures in each part of the telescopic locking bar to form a continuous aperture, inserting a frangible pin through the continuous aperture and locking the frangible pin in place with a padlock received by a hole in the frangible pin. The pin has a narrow portion which can be broken by relatively little human force. The device requires someone who does not have the key to the padlock on the frangible pin to break the frangible pin to enter a door fixed with the device. A broken pin alerts the occupant that an entry has occurred during his/her absence. A sleeve normally protects the narrow portion but slides easily away to expose the narrow portion when entry is desired.

The clamping arrangement is used for protecting doors and windows against forcible entry by burglars. This arrangement is readily fitted on already existing windows and doors. Across the window or door (20) is placed a tubular blocking member (16). This is held in position by bolts (10, 11) which pass through the masonry (12) on either side of the opening. The ends of the bolts pass through the transverse slot in the tubular clamping element and this tubular element is clamped against the panel surface by wing nuts (19). Typically the clamping arrangement is situated either just above or just below the lock itself.

A second member is pivotally connected to the first member and is movable between a locking position and a retracted position relative to the door to be locked. When in the locking position, the second member is pivoted into the path of movement of the door to prevent the door from being moved from a closed position to an open position. When it is desired to unlock the door, the second member is pivoted upwardly relative to the first member to its retracted position where the second member is out of the path of movement of the door to allow its movement from the closed to the open position.

Any elongation above a specified amount requires substantially higher force than that required to elongate the belt (22) for putting it in its operable position.

The present invention is a positioning mechanism device to prevent the motion of one surface with respect to a second surface, in one direction. The positioning mechanism uses a linear adjusting lock, an actuator, and an over-ride mechanism. The linear adjusting lock uses a coil spring to hold a rod in place. A trash container locking apparatus comprises first and second pivot arms with first ends pivoted to mounting plates secured to opposite sides of a trash container and a bar extending between second ends of the arms. The pivot arms can be pivoted upwards and rearwards between an unlocked condition in which the bar extends across the front of the container and a locked position in which the bar extends across the closed lid of the container. The first arm has an outwardly projecting locking flange with at least one opening, and the mounting plate for that arm has an outwardly projecting stop plate which has an opening aligned with the opening in the locking flange in the locked position. Disclosed is a door barricade for use as a home security device that serves to prevent a door from being opened by an intruder. A rigid, elongated bar extends horizontally across a doorway so as to physically prevent the door from opening. The elongated bar includes an L-shaped bracket on each end. Each bracket comprises a first section to be positioned flush against the wall on opposing sides of a doorway, and a second section to which an end of the elongated bar is secured. The invention relates to locking devices, more particularly, gravity actuated locking devices, e.g., for waste containers. The locking device is designed to be fixed to a container and contains a gravity operated locking mechanism and a locking unit that couples the gravity operated locking mechanism to a locking bar. The locking bar allows the lid of the container to be blocked or opened depending upon the relative position of the locking bar to the lid. Disclosed are apparatus and corresponding and/or associated methodology for door barricade systems which may be activated from inside an enclosure (or room) while still maintaining controlled serviceability or access to the enclosure from outside of the enclosure. Per some embodiments, bolts passed through a doorframe as a retrofit feature may support an interior plate which has a channel or passage for receipt of a manually removable door block member. The bolts are secured by an exterior plate and custom nuts which have customized drive surfaces. Corresponding custom drive head features interface with the custom nuts for either installation or removal of the door barricade system, even if the door block member is in place. Corresponding hole features on the custom nuts match with custom drive head pin features to provide an effective keyed entrance, which is hardened against forced entry if a person outside the secured room does not have the appropriate custom drive head. 1.
