These in combination with the structure of the sill assembly shed water away from the building structure and allow for the possibility of the sill assembly being installed without an additional sill pan or flashing. The sill assembly can optionally include one or more thermal breaks. The sill assembly can be structured so the thermal breaks of the door, sidelites, and vertical door frame members all align with the thermal breaks of the sill assembly.

The two superimposed window casements consist of frames each of which is positioned inits own window frame. The sides of both window and casement frames are made of a bar of rolled heavy metal, pref. steel. The bar consists of one side parallel to the frame plane, and a second side at right angles to the first side. On the second side is a solid strap protruding on the same side as the first side. Between the first side of each frame, and the strip of the other frame is a sealing strip of rubbery, elastic material. The sealing strip is held in a groove formed by retaining-bars preferably of light metal or of plastic. The second side of the bar project beyond the strips away from the first sides, so that when the window is closed, the edge of the second side joins with the first side of the other frame.

The insulated window incorporates a stock frame and a double wing frame. The stock frame comprises a hollow shaped-section with fitting surfaces, operable from inside for sealing units on the inside and outside of the window. Between the sealing units there are a further two or more lipped sealing units mounted between the stock frame and the double wing frame bridging the gap between these in the plane of the window. At least one lipped sealing unit may be effective relative to each of the two wing frames. In some implementations, two angled mating surfaces are used, one angled surface on a fixed frame and one reversed angled surface on the slideable door panel. The slideable door panel slides directly parallel to the fixed door frame. Generally, a flexible waterproof membrane is adhesively applied to the sill surface for purposes of waterproofing that surface. In one arrangement, the membrane includes a conformable adhesive flap that extends beyond the front edge of the sill surface and which is flexible to allow stretching and adhering the flap to a surface that is transverse (e.g., vertical) to the remainder of the membrane. The membrane also includes a non-adhesive flap that may be disposed over the adhesive flap once it is adhered in a desired orientation. The non-adhesive flap provides a durable surface for the adhesive flap once it is stretched and adhered in place.

The lowering occurs against a restoring force. The sealing device also has an activation unit for activating the drop-down seal. A sealing system comprising:a reservoir device;a sealing tube configured to expand and to contract; anda transfer valve configured to couple the reservoir device to a first end of the sealing tube;wherein responsive to either of a door or window closing, a medium is transferred from the reservoir device via the transfer valve to the sealing tube, and further wherein responsive to receiving the medium, the sealing tube expands to substantially seal a gap between an edge of either the door or the window and a surface in proximity to the edge; andwherein responsive to either of the door or window opening, the medium is discharged from the sealing tube via the transfer valve, and further wherein responsive to discharging the medium, the sealing tube contracts.2. The sealing system of claim 1 , wherein the medium includes a gas.3. The sealing system of claim 1 , wherein the medium includes a liquid.4. The subject invention provides for a weatherstrip assembly for sealing between a frame and a closure member of a vehicle. The assembly includes a trim portion having a body and a flange extending from the body. The flange is capable of moving between an initial position and a final position.
