A brace locking mechanism locks the foldable braces of a folding ladder in the open position. The brace locking mechanism is used with a ladder that has a stepped unit and a support unit foldably attached to the stepped unit with a foldable brace extending between the stepped unit and the support unit. Elevated work platform apparatuses, as well as associated methods, are provided. One elevated platform apparatus comprises a first assembly having a pair of rails coupled with a plurality of rungs, a second assembly hingedly coupled with the first assembly, a platform pivotally coupled with the first assembly and configured to extend to, and engage a portion of, the second assembly. The apparatus further includes a cage associated with the platform. The cage may include a guard structure including a pair of gates. A locking mechanism may be associated with the platform and include a latch member for engagement with a cross-member of the second assembly. VERTICAL LADDER

A vertical ladder has two side stiles and at least one front vertical rail. Two sets of half treads are supported by each stile and horizontal rung members connected between at least one rail and a respective half tread or stile. Each horizontal rung member only has a front straight bar portion that terminates orthogonally at the at least one rail (i.e. at a T-junction), thereby allowing a vertical grab rail portion for gripping (including for counterbalance) and an orthogonal side straight bar portion. The rung members and half treads are alternately vertically staggered. Stepladder tray

A tray for a stepladder is disclosed. The tray provides an area for work space or for storage of tools or materials in addition to that provided by the stepladder by itself. The tray is configured to be removably attachable to the top of the stepladder when in use or removably attached to the stepladder and preferably within the boundaries of the stepladder when not in use.

Elevated working platform and related methods

Elevated work platform apparatuses, as well as associated methods, are provided. In one particular embodiment, an elevated platform apparatus is provided comprising a first assembly having a pair of rails coupled with a plurality of rungs, a second assembly hingedly coupled with the first assembly, a platform pivotally coupled with the first assembly and configured to extend to, and engage a portion of, the second assembly. The apparatus further includes a cage associated with the platform. The cage may include at least one bar and at least one gate, the at least one gate being configured to swing in a first direction upon a user stepping on to the platform from the first rail assembly, and then swing back to a closed position after the user is standing on the platform. Platform includes a toe-kick structure that is collapsible relative to the deck of the platform.

A household lift for fallen persons is devised in which a modified stepladder serves as the main lift structure while also serving as a stepladder storably foldable and usable within the house. A removable winch is set atop the stepladder, and it too can serve other purposes and can be of hand-cranked or electric powered design. The winch's lift cable is removably attached to preferably a prior-art sling type which first lays flat on the floor to facilitate moving the person onto it, and next pulls the person up into a secure sit-up position and then high enough to lower onto a wheelchair or other safe destination. 1.
