A sealing assembly for installation on a port of a spring brake actuator includes a plug, a one-way valve and a cap. The plug receives the one-way valve for providing one-way air flow through the orifices and maintaining about two psi in the spring brake chamber at zero stroke. An elastomeric piece is affixed to a first set of segments of the plug for sealing against an inner surface of the port. The cap has arms sized to extend around a third set of segments of the plug and snap onto the plug. A fourth set of segments of the plug elastically deform so the sealing assembly can be installed and removed from the port easily.

The inner shell is located at the cylinder block, and the inner enclosed cavity of the cylinder block is divided into an outer duct and an inner duct, and an electric coil is arranged in the inner shell. An Archimedes pump is arranged in the inner duct, the electric coil is in drive connection with the Archimedes pump to form a motor structure. Tension structures are arranged in the outer duct. The Archimedes pump is driven to rotate to form a pressure difference between the top and bottom of the cylinder block, generating airflow around the tension structures. According to Bernoulli principle, the pulling force is generated by tension structures. The tension structures concentrate on the cylinder block to form the power of the engine power structure.

A cryogenic fluid pump includes a drive assembly and a pumping assembly. The drive assembly includes a cylinder. The closed-loop piston engine system may include a scCO 2 injector; a superheating nozzle region; a first valve; a second valve; a piston moving in the cylinder and coupled with a crankshaft, the piston being driven toward a centerline of the crankshaft during a power stroke using a connecting rod and causing the crankshaft to rotate thereby causing one power stroke per crankshaft rotation and thereby producing two power strokes for every single power stroke that a similar engine would produce if run as a hydrocarbon fuel powered internal combustion engine. The recirculating CO 2 system recirculates the used carbon dioxide and there are no carbon dioxide emissions from the system.

A high efficiency uniflow steam engine having automatic inlet and exhaust valves rather than camshaft operated valves includes an electromagnet and cooperating armature that actuates a cutoff control valve for closing a steam inlet valve at any time selected to cut off the flow of steam to the cylinder. Approaching the end of the exhaust stroke, e.g., about 0.12 inch before TDC the cylinder can be sealed to thereby compressing the remaining residual steam down to a minute clearance approaching zero, for example, 0.020 inch raising cylinder steam pressure enough to open the steam inlet valve without physical contact between the piston and the steam inlet valve eliminating tappet noise, shock and wear.

It is challenging to detect end of stroke for hydraulically actuated, reciprocating piston pumps for a variety of reasons. When the pump pressurizes a process fluid to a 10 relatively low pressure the magnitude of hydraulic fluid pressure is not as distinct compared to the magnitude of a pressure drop across a shuttle valve employed to detect end of stroke, which makes detecting the end of stroke event difficult. A method is disclosed for detecting end of a piston stroke in a hydraulic motor comprising a reciprocating piston with a shuttle valve. The method comprises 1 detecting end of piston stroke when a magnitude of a rate of change of hydraulic fluid pressure is substantially greater than a magnitude of a mean rate of change of hydraulic fluid pressure over said piston stroke; and noise in a hydraulic fluid pressure signal is substantially negligible. 1. The present invention relates to engines utilizing heating of water steam obtained through heating of water. The engine comprises a working cylinder (1), a piston (2), a space (3) enclosing the working cylinder (1), and a thermal insulation layer (4) enclosing said space (3). The engine is characterized in that it comprises a transition channel (19) fluidly connecting the space (3) and the working cylinder (1). The transition channel (19) comprises a pressure-reducing valve (14), an inlet valve (5) and an inlet-outlet valve (6) for a controlled steam supply from the space (3) to the working cylinder (1), as well as electrodes (7) in order to provide the electric arc discharge. The engine comprises an outlet channel (20) connected to the transition channel (19) at the position where the inlet-outlet valve (6) is located, allowing steam to flow from the space (3) to the working cylinder (1).

Detecting end of stroke in a hydraulic motor

It is challenging to detect end of stroke for hydraulically actuated, reciprocating piston pumps for a variety of reasons. When the pump pressurizes a process fluid to a 10 relatively low pressure the magnitude of hydraulic fluid pressure is not as distinct compared to the magnitude of a pressure drop across a shuttle valve employed to detect end of stroke, which makes detecting the end of stroke event difficult. A method is disclosed for detecting end of a piston stroke in a hydraulic motor comprising a reciprocating piston with a shuttle valve. The method comprises 1 detecting end of piston stroke when a magnitude of a rate of change of hydraulic fluid pressure is substantially greater than a magnitude of a mean rate of change of hydraulic fluid pressure over said piston stroke; and noise in a hydraulic fluid pressure signal is substantially negligible.
