Disclosed herein is an orbiting vane compressor with a side-inlet structure that is capable of compressing air in a cylinder according to an orbiting movement of an orbiting vane, the orbiting vane compressor being applied to a refrigerant compressor having refrigerant gas inlet and outlet channels isolated from each other, thereby increasing the sectional area of the refrigerant gas inlet channel. Refrigerant gas is introduced into the cylinder from the side of the cylinder, is compressed in the cylinder, and is then discharged upward or downward out of the cylinder. As a result, refrigerant gas introduced into the cylinder through the refrigerant gas inlet channel is prevented from being heated by compressed refrigerant gas discharged through the refrigerant gas outlet channel.

The arrangement is shown applied to a gyratory piston engine in which the piston ring 1 is carried by a plate 8; the packing strip 6 bears against the abutment 4 and is formed at one end with a projecting part 10 lying flush with the plate 8 and bearing on the end of the abutment 4. An oppositely projecting part 11 at the other end of the strip 6 prevents damage if the spring 7 breaks. The strips 6 may be laminated.

One example of a nutating fluid-mechanical energy converter includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes an outer cylinder having a longitudinal passage (101) and an inner guide cylinder disposed longitudinally within the outer cylinder. The inner guide cylinder and outer cylinder are concentric and define an annulus for fluid flow. A longitudinal guide is attached to an outer surface of the inner guide cylinder and extending outwardly toward an inner surface of the outer cylinder. The rotor is positioned in the annulus to be eccentric relative to the outer cylinder. The rotor has a sidewall with a guide opening to receive the longitudinal guide. Fluid flowing through the annulus imparts a torque on the rotor causing the rotor to nutate within the annulus. The nutational motion of the rotor can be converted into a rotational motion using a suitable rotary output device.

Disclosed herein is a low-pressure type orbiting vane compressor that is capable of diverging low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas introduced into a shell through an inlet tube to an inlet port of a cylinder and a drive unit so as to simultaneously compress the refrigerant gas and cool the drive unit. The orbiting vane compressor comprises a vertical baffle disposed in the shell while being spaced apart from the inner end of the inlet tube, and a diverging channel defined between the baffle and the inlet tube, the diverging channel having one end communicating with the inlet port of the cylinder and the other end communicating with the drive unit. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of preventing overheating of the drive unit, and therefore, improving performance and reliability of the orbiting vane compressor.

A first, second and third sub-assemblies are separately prepared, and then are assembled into the compressor. The first sub-assembly is formed by the first cup-shaped portion and at least one internal component part of the compressor. The second sub-assembly is formed by the first cup-shaped portion and at least one internal component part of the compressor. The third sub-assembly is formed by the cylindrical portion and the remainder of the internal component parts of the compressor. Accordingly, the compressor can be easily assembled under a flexible management.

One example of a nutating fluid-mechanical energy converter includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes an outer cylinder having a longitudinal passage (101) and an inner guide cylinder disposed longitudinally within the outer cylinder. The inner guide cylinder and outer cylinder are concentric and define an annulus for fluid flow. A longitudinal guide is attached to an outer surface of the inner guide cylinder and extending outwardly toward an inner surface of the outer cylinder. The rotor is positioned in the annulus to be eccentric relative to the outer cylinder. The rotor has a sidewall with a guide opening to receive the longitudinal guide. Fluid flowing through the annulus imparts a torque on the rotor causing the rotor to nutate within the annulus. The nutational motion of the rotor can be converted into a rotational motion using a suitable rotary output device.

A rotary air compressor includes a rotor which rotates within a housing and controls communication through inlet and outlet ports provided on the housing and compresses air communicated through the inlet port for delivery to the outlet port. The inlet and outlet ports are provided with check valves controlling communication therethrough. After the rotor rotates through a dead-center position, the check valves in both the inlet and outlet ports are closed. The rotor then rotates into a position in which the apex seals carried by the rotor wipe across the inlet and outlet ports simultaneously thereby opening a communication path bypassing the apex seals so that the pressure levels in the chambers across the rotor are equalized. As the rotor continues to rotate, air is compressed and communicated to the outlet port.

The present invention relates to a scroll pump (10) comprising a pump housing (12), a drive shaft having a concentric shaft portion (14) and an eccentric shaft portion (16) connected to an orbiting scroll (20). The shaft is arranged to be driven by a motor (18) so that during use rotation of the shaft imparts an orbiting motion to the orbiting scroll relative to a fixed scroll (22) for pumping fluid between a pump inlet (24) and pump outlet (26) of the compressor. Slider adapting apparatus for orbiting vane compressors

Disclosed herein is a slider adapting apparatus for orbiting vane compressors. A circular vane of an orbiting vane is disposed in an annular space defined in a cylinder. A pair of sliders is coupled with the circular vane for performing reciprocating movement along the annular space while being in tight contact with both ends of an opening formed at the circular vane to seal between compression chambers formed in the annular space. The slider adapting apparatus comprises a gap defined between the sliders, which are spaced apart from each other, and a gap maintaining part for maintaining the gap while increasing and decreasing the gap. Using the slider adapting apparatus, damage to parts and a locking phenomenon due to severe interference between the circular vane and the sliders are prevented, and therefore, a drive unit of the orbiting vane compressor is effectively prevented from suffering overload and catching fire.

Moreover, refrigerant may be discharged in opposite directions to each other in each compression space, thereby reducing the vibration noise of the compressor. In addition, a back pressure groove may be formed on an upper surface of the drive transmission portion of the rolling piston, thereby reducing a friction area between the rolling piston and the upper bearing as well as reducing a friction loss between the rolling piston and the upper bearing due to oil filled into the back pressure groove.

A rotary fluid machine includes an eccentric rotary piston mechanism that is configured such that an annular piston is accommodated in an annular cylinder chamber of a cylinder to form an outer cylinder chamber and an inner cylinder chamber. The cylinder and the annular piston relatively execute eccentric rotary motion. Each of the outer and inner cylinder chambers is divided by a blade into a first chamber and a second chamber. The blade and the annular piston are mutually movably coupled together by a swinging bushing. The blade is provided, in its contact parts with the annular piston and the swinging bushing, with sliding surfaces in order to prevent the occurrence of seizure and wear of the blade and the annular piston and the occurrence of gas leakage between the first chamber and the second chamber during operation.
