The controller reversely rotates the rotor for a predetermined time upon activating the compressor. According to the compressor, chattering can be prevented by surely protruding the vane from the vane slot without providing extra parts. In addition, the vane can be produced with easy working processes at low cost.

Okoren Abstract Inside the hermetic shell of a scroll compressor, a normally closed solenoid valve seats against the back side of a stationary scroll plate to close a discharge opening through the plate. A coil circuit that actuates the valve has an electrical resistance that increases with temperature. The temperature dependent resistance allows the coil circuit to also function as a discharge temperature sensor. Should the discharge gas over-heat, the compressor motor and the valve are de-energized in response to the resistance exceeding a predetermined limit. The closed valve prevents backflow from rapidly reversing the rotational direction of the compressor, which can be extremely noisy and damaging to the compressor. Both the valve and the compressor motor are energized at the same time, regardless of the compressor's direction of rotation. Should the compressor motor be inadvertently wired to operate in reverse, the solenoid valve still opens to prevent destructively low pressure from developing between the scroll plates.

Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing the reverse operation of a scroll compressor, and includes a crank shaft constituting a variable radius structure of a scroll compressor, and an operating surface at the time of forward rotation in a slide bush inserted between the eccentric portion of the crank shaft and the center of the turning scroll. Fixing the turning scroll by increasing the driving angle at the time of reverse rotation that the driving surface at the reverse rotation makes with the reference line more than the predetermined value, compared to the driving angle at the forward rotation formed with the reference line connecting the center of the crankshaft and the center of the turning scroll. It is configured to prevent the reverse operation of the compressor by increasing the friction with the scroll. The reverse operation prevention device of the scroll compressor is a scroll compressor using a three-phase power source, and the rotating scroll and the fixed scroll can be used to prevent damage caused by reverse rotation of the compressor due to incorrect wiring of each phase power source, which is likely to occur when the product is installed. There is an advantage that the frictional force of greater than the starting load of the compressor can prevent the reverse operation.

The valve permits the flow of gas from the discharge to the suction pressure portion of the compressor through the protective passage when the temperature of the discharge gas produced by the compressor is caused to exceed a predetermined temperature. The resulting flow causes the compressor motor to de-energize.

The valve member is movable along the path and away from the inlet, when the actuator is retracted, by the flow of low pressure gas through the inlet. Upon compressor shutdown, the back pressure moves the valve member to a substantially occluding position relative to the inlet position to prevent backflow from flowing outward from the compressor.

A method is disclosed for identifying when a compressor is being run in reverse due to improper wiring. In a preferred embodiment, sensors sense the condition of a refrigerant at the inlet line and a refrigerant at the outlet line. If an expected pressure differential is not seen, then the determination is made that the compressor is running in reverse. In embodiments the control system may shut down the compressor, provide an alarm, or reverse a phase of two of the three wires of a three phase power input to correct the rotation direction.
