A fastener ( 1 ) is provided for clamping a first component ( 25 ) to a second component ( 27 ). The fastener has at least one resiliently deformable snap-fit member ( 5 ) which, in use, is inserted from a first side of the components through a channel ( 29, 31 ) extending thereacross. The snap-fit ( 5 ) member has an abutment surface ( 7 ) which, on emerging from the channel ( 29, 31 ), enters into snap-fit engagement with an opposing second side of the components to prevent retraction of the snap-fit member ( 5 ). The fastener ( 1 ) further has a spring arrangement which presses on the first side of the components on the insertion of the snap-fit member ( 5 ) to apply a compressive clamping force across the components between the spring arrangement and the abutment surface ( 7 ).

The present invention discloses a fast assembly mechanism installed between a seat body and a seat frame. The fast assembly mechanism includes a pin and a connecting component. The pin is connected to the seat body, and the connecting component is slidably disposed on the seat frame. The connecting component includes an engaging portion and a release portion. The engaging portion is for engaging with the pin so as to engage the seat body with the seat frame, and the release portion is for separating the pin from the connecting component. When the seat body is engaged with the seat frame, the pin is aligned to the engaging portion and engaged with the engaging portion. A clamping snap-in fastener has a head with laterally-projecting, resilient arms that are curved and tapered toward their extremities. The arms are angled downwardly. A self-drilling expansion fastener is integrally formed of a sheet metal material for locking two or more sheet workpieces together, and includes an expansion structure and a drill structure. The expansion structure has a plurality of internal threads and force-distributing bars. The drill structure has a chip guard for covering a head of the expansion structure, and a drill forward projected from the chip guar for self-drilling a hole. When an externally threaded element is screwed into the expansion structure to mesh with the internal threads, the force-distributing bars are brought to expand outward and are finally compressed into a folded state to thereby tightly lock the sheet workpieces to one another. A product and method are disclosed for securing a structure to a pickup truck in a damage-free way. The pickup may have a bed rail with a stake pocket having walls. An anchor having an expandable section with a bolt extending through the expandable section may be positioned into the stake pocket. A structure having a mounting flange with a hole in the mounting flange may be positioned onto the bed rail so that the bolt extends through the hole. A fastener may be applied to the bolt and tightened to compress the expandable section and simultaneously clamp the mounting flange to the bed rail. By forcing the expandable section against the walls of the stake pocket, the structure may be secured on the bed rail.

A fastener is installed by applying an axial pressing force onto a mating component such as a round pin or a square tab. The fastener includes spring arms formed by bent tabs which deflect when pressed onto and grip the pin or other mating component between jaws of the arms making the fastener resistant to being pulled off. Downward facing fingers located around the periphery of the fastener flex when they come into contact with another portion of the mating component. This creates a residual clamp load between the fastener and the component. The fastener can easily be removed using a tool similar to snap ring pliers or needle nose pliers. Two holes on opposite sides of the fastener allow the part to be squeezed and deformed into an oval shape. This action disengages the arms and allows the fastener to slide off the mating component without resistance.

A fastening device for fastening at least two panels or flanges to each other is disclosed. The device comprises a male member, a female member and a washer. The male member is inserted into and at least partially through aligned slots in the panels or flanges. The male member includes or houses a first securing component. The female member defines an opening generally complementally shaped to the projection of the male member. The male member and the female member are configured to receive the at least two panels or flanges between them when the projection is received in the opening. The washer mates with the female member such that displacement of the washer relative to the female member towards the male member is substantially prevented. The device further comprises a second securing component configured to mate with the first securing component and to secure the washer against the female member. 1. A clip couples a first member with a first through-hole, and a second member with a second through-hole. The clip includes a flexible cylindrical portion having a predetermined center axis line, opening two ends, and formed so that a distance from the center axis line to an outside surface is different in a rotational direction around the center axis line. The center axis line is orthogonal to an axis line of the coupling hole, and the cylindrical portion is inserted into a coupling hole rotatably between a first rotational position and a second rotational position around the center axis line. The cylindrical portion is set to have a distance between the center axis line and the outside surface to be loosely fitted in the coupling hole at the first rotational position and to be clamped between hole walls of the coupling hole at the second rotational position.

Disclosed is a fastening system ( 10 ) including an anchor component ( 12 ) having a head ( 16 ) and an elongate flexible member ( 18 ) extending from the head ( 16 ). The elongate flexible member ( 18 ) has one of the following cross-sections: (i) a circle with at least one segment removed to provide at least one linear cord; (ii) a shape wherein at least three equally spaced arms of the same length radiate radially from the longitudinal axis; or (iii) a polygon made up of linear sections of substantially the same length. At least one series of ratchet formations ( 22 ) is provided on a planar surface of the elongate flexible member ( 18 ). The fastening system ( 10 ) furthermore comprises a push-on fastening component ( 14 ) which is separate from, or prior to use severable from, the anchor component ( 12 ). The push-on fastening component ( 14 ) defines a passageway ( 42 ) to receive the elongate flexible member ( 18 ) and having at least one ratchet formation engaging member ( 44 ) to engage the ratchet formations ( 22 ) to allow passage of the elongate flexible member ( 18 ) through the passageway ( 42 ) in one direction but not in the other direction. The push-on fastening component ( 14 ), unlike the anchor component ( 12 ), does not include an elongate flexible member with a series of longitudinally arranged ratchet formations.
