In a second addition to patent 7407086, for a rotary exhaust pipe joint, a clip pulls the component parts together axially taking up wear. The joint is formed by the external female section (52a) and the internal male section (52b) expanded spherically from the pipes (52e, 52i) as described in the parent patent. The two sections are held together by a spring (51) of steel piano wire, preformed, so that it tends to compress the pipe ends together. The spring has two horse shoe openings (51a, 51b) which clip over the recessed zones (52j, 52l) behind the contacting spherical ends (52a, 52b).
