The lighting strips are modular and are capable of being physically and electrically connected with one another to provide lighting systems that are waterproof and adaptable to many situations. Included in embodiments of the invention are modular lighting strips comprising: a non-conductive substrate strip comprising an electrical circuit; a plurality of high brightness LEDs operably connected to the electrical circuit; a colloid layer comprising polyurethane resin providing a waterproof coating over the substrate, the circuit, and the LEDs; and a plug at one end and a socket at an opposing end of the substrate which is integrally formed with the strip to provide for waterproof electrical interconnection of two or more circuits or to a power supply. The lighting strips of the invention can be used in particular for back lighting, accent lighting, aisle or path lighting, contour lighting, elegant interior decoration, holiday decorations, or landscape lighting.

A compact high-brightness LED grow light fixture is described for use in growing plants under artificial light, or as a supplement to natural sunlight. The LED grow light uses a densely-packed array of high-brightness light emitting diodes (LEDs) that are not individually packaged where the array behaves similarly to a point source of light. The LED chips are distributed laterally over an area, where the LED chips have light emitting surfaces for emitting light in directions transverse to said area, wherein the dimensions of the area do not exceed 25 mm. Adjacent chips of the array are preferably separated by less than about 0.2 mm. The extended point source LED array, with its lens and associated reflector, result in a concentrated, partially-collimated light source, such that the intensity of the light does not diminish rapidly as distance from the light source increases. Thus, foliage that is lower down on the plant will receive almost as much light energy as does foliage on the top of the plant. The compact LED grow light does not block much of the natural sunlight, making the LED grow light suitable for use as a supplement to natural sunlight. The LED array contains a plurality of LED strings that may be separately controlled, thereby allowing the spectral content of the LED grow light to be varied, to facilitate desired plant growth at various stages of plant life. Multiple wavelengths of LEDs may be used within each LED string, thereby allowing the ability to further optimize the spectral content of the LED grow light. Due to the compact size of the LED grow light, the light emitted at each of the multiple different wavelengths from the array is evenly distributed, when the objects being illuminated by the array are at a distance of less than about 6 feet or even less than 1 foot from the array. Provided is an improved flashlight structure applicable to a flashlight for use at special sites. The flashlight structure includes a press switch whose protruding end is constantly received in a recessed area. An LED lamp () is provided, having at least one LED unit () arranged in a housing (), a first () and a second () lamp cap being arranged spaced from each other on opposing ends of the housing (), said lamp caps () each comprising at least one contact element for connecting said LED unit () with a lamp fixture. An LED lamp , comprisingone LED unit arranged in a housing,a first and a second lamp cap being arranged spaced from each other on opposing ends of the housing, said lamp caps each comprising at least one contact element for connecting said LED unit with a lamp fixture, wherein said first lamp cap comprises contact breaking means, configured to electrically disconnect said contact elements of said first and second lamp caps from each other when said LED lamp is removed from said lamp fixture.2. The LED lamp according to claim 1 , wherein said contact breaking means are adapted to disconnect said contact elements from each other when said LED lamp is rotated and/or displaced linearly against said lamp fixture.3. The LED lamp according to claim 1 , wherein said contact breaking means are configured to disconnect said at least one contact element of said first lamp cap from said LED unit.4. The LED lamp according to claim 1 , wherein said contact breaking means comprise a switching member claim 1 , which is displaceable from a connected state claim 1 , in which said contact elements are connected with each other claim 1 , to a disconnected state claim 1 , in which said contact elements are disconnected from each other.5. The present invention relates to a flashlight with a cylindrical housing and a battery cartridge housed therein so that at least one battery can be removably retained. In order to provide a flashlight in which a faulty slide switch can be fitted or replaced simply and without any extra cost, according to the invention a slide switch is proposed with a slide mounted movably on the housing and a switch lever arranged on the battery cartridge.
