A novelty button illumination device comprises a circular disk body having a circumferential rim. A recess is provided in the rim that holds in place one or more glow sticks. The illumination device engages a novelty button by either the novelty button's pre-existing pin-and-clutch fastening device or by a fastening device affixed to the illumination device. When engaged, the device together with the novelty pin may be worn on clothing and the like. The glow sticks are bent and snapped to activate a chemical light producing reaction and after such activation may be placed into the recess. There is herein described an LED lamp comprising a tubular body having a diffuser portion and a circuit board portion. The circuit board portion has a plurality of light-emitting diodes mounted thereon and electric circuitry for providing power to the LEDs. In one embodiment, the circuit board and diffuser portions are integrally formed from a sheet of a translucent polymer. As the circuit board forms a part of the tubular body of the lamp, the LEDs are located at the circumference of the lamp instead of near the center. Such a configuration improves diffusion and distribution of the light. Moreover, since the circuit board is not contained within the tubular body, there is no enclosure to trap excess heat which is an additional advantage. 1. The invention relates to optical light diffusers for use with point light sources, such as LED lighting. The optical diffusers achieve an optimum balance of light transmission and hiding power. A device and method for housing a terminator circuit and brightly distributing light from one surface and dimly distributing light from another surface with a single light source. Additionally, light may be distributed from a top surface, a bottom surface and through an edge surface. In operation, the light fixture of figure may provide tri-directional lighting by providing light from the LEDs directed from one side of the light fixture, while providing light from a second side of the light fixture in the opposite direction (but offset), and directing a third portion of light from one of the LED arrays through a light pipe to an edge of the fixture. This allows a lighting designer a wide range of aesthetics and lighting affects because light of different densities may be directed where needed. 1. A device for illuminating a portion of a hand-held scanner to indicate a status of the scanner provides an even distribution of light emission. The device might include various elements that facilitate an even distribution of the light. For instance, in one aspect the device includes a set of reflective surfaces that are positioned throughout the scanner together with light-emitting devices (e.g., LED) in a manner to evenly transmit light emissions. In another aspect, the device includes a light-diffusing translucent member, which smoothly and evenly presents the light emissions that are reflected off of the reflective surfaces.

An LED is located in each sector in the enclosure operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path from the base.
