The method can include the graduated introduction of an input fluid into the reservoir. A control valve can gradually introduce the input fluid in proportion to the established fluid level of the turbulated base fluid.

An offset window mount fan unit includes two or more independently controlled fans controllable to move air in the same direction or in opposite directions. A housing substantially offsets the fans from a direct passage of air into the room. In one embodiment, the fans are mounted in a housing perpendicular to the window, air traveling through the fans turning 90 degrees to pass through the plane of the window and 90 degrees down into the room. A portable misting system , comprising:a carrying case;a fluid pump arranged within the carrying case;a power source positioned inside the carrying case to provide electrical power to the fluid pump;a working fluid source that provides a working fluid to the fluid pump via a supply line;a distribution line that receives a pressurized working fluid from the fluid pump; andone or more spray nozzles coupled to the distribution line to discharge the pressurized working fluid as a mist.2. The portable misting system of claim 1 , wherein the fluid pump claim 1 , the power source claim 1 , the working fluid source claim 1 , the supply line claim 1 , and the distribution line are each contained within the carrying case until deployment for use.3. An evaporator assembly for use in an evaporative humidifier , the evaporator assembly comprising:an arrangement of spacer fabric that is multi-layered; andan evaporator frame that supports the arrangement of spacer fabric, wherein the evaporator frame comprises at least one of an outer grille that surrounds an outer surface of the arrangement of spacer fabric and an inner grille that extends over an inner surface of the arrangement of spacer fabric.2. The evaporator assembly of claim 1 , wherein the arrangement of spacer fabric is generally tubular in shape and has any of a generally circular and a non-circular cross-section.3. The evaporator assembly of claim 1 , wherein the evaporator frame further comprises a first end cap claim 1 , the first end cap comprising a trough within which a first end of the arrangement of spacer fabric is disposed.4. The evaporator assembly of claim 3 , wherein the evaporator frame further comprises a second end cap claim 3 , the second end cap covering a second end of the arrangement of spacer fabric.5.
