In another aspect a secondary vent (85, 12) is constructed to look like the surrouding field tiles (91) and is installed over each primary vent (40, 84). One or more vent openings in the secondary vent (12, 85) and an opening in the primary vent (40, 84) conduct air between the attic or rafter space and the outside. An animal house ventilation system 1 comprises a roof 2 supporting exhaust chimneys 4 and vents 3 in walls of the house. Some chimneys 4 have both baffles 6 and exhaust fans 7, and other chimneys 5 have only baffles 8 without fans. A controller 10 is linked with sensors including temperature, pressure, ammonia and carbon dioxide and controls the vents, the exhaust fans, and the exhaust baffles. The controller causes the system to operate as a natural ventilation system utilizing the vents and all of the chimneys in the roof as openings for ventilation until a point is reached where there is not enough air movement through the house under natural ventilation conditions. At this stage the fans are started at a low speed and the baffles in the chimneys without fans are closed to ensure that there is no downdraught. The inlet vents continue to open at the same time the fans speed are increased, and continue to increase in speed after the inlet vents have fully opened to keep the temperature ...

Those upper edges 52 are also preferably curved to assist and train air flow in avoiding turbulence. Also curved guides 60, 62 can be provided in from the ventilator throat into airways to each side of the central structure 32. The latter guides 60, 62 are shown pivotted to be capable of blocking-off the ventilator gap. The ventilator may be for a foundry. ...

Ventilator and blade therefor

Номер: AU2013313029B2
Принадлежит: Griffith Hack

A roof-mounted ventilator comprising a plurality of blades is disclosed. Each blade comprises front and back blade faces and leading and trailing edges. When the ventilator is viewed in side profile, the blades are positioned and configured such that a line of sight into the interior of the ventilator is substantially restricted or obstructed. Restricting or obstructing the line of sight into the ventilator can reduce or prevent various particles, such as water droplets, debris, dust and light, from entering the ventilator interior. For example, rain is thereby forced to strike a face of the blades, thus preventing direct access into the ventilator interior. The blade itself may include additional features, such as a lip that extends along the length of the leading edge, to further prevent particles from entering the ventilator interior, or to redirect the particles away from the ventilator interior in a controlled manner.

An anchor support and roof vent for a pitched roof , comprising:a support member having a first end and a second end, the support member being sized so that the first end is fixable to a first roof truss and the second end is fixable to a second roof truss,An anchor line attachment fixable to the support member, andA roof vent cover attachable over the anchor support member.27-. (canceled) This invention relates to a safety anchor and roof vent. More particularly, this invention relates to a safety anchor device that enables a worker to attach a safety anchor line to the device, for example when working on the roof, and selectively acts as a roof Vent that enables the venting of air from an attic space of a building. When workers are working on the roofs of buildings and in particular residential and commercial buildings which have pitched roofs, they typically use an anchor line and harness system for safety in the event of a slip or fall. These anchor lines must be secured at an end opposite the worker such that the line will withstand the forces which may be applied to them should they be required to suddenly support the worker if he or she slips and/or falls. In the past, workers such as roofers have tied safety lines to objects such as trees or cars on an opposite side of a building on which they are working. This set up is dangerous since the safety lines can rub across the ridge of the roof, which is usually shingled, and the safety line can become frayed and brittle. Further, the object which the safety line is attached to may not be able to support the requisite three applied if a ...
