Methods and apparatus are provided for determining an offset detection for a fuel level sensor fault. The method includes receiving an electrical resistance reading from a potentiometer of a fuel level sensor and generating an estimated fuel level based on an established fuel usage table that references the electrical resistance reading. A fuel level indicator system that utilizes a resistor card having an arc-shaped resistive path with a first set of spaced apart conductor lines and an arc-shaped resistive ink material overlying the first set of conductor lines. The first conductor lines are formed at an angle with respect to a radial line drawn from the center of the resistive path arc. The resistor card also has an arc-shaped continuously solid conductor base and a second set of spaced apart conductor lines extending from the base at an angle with respect to a radial line drawn from the center of the arc-shaped conductor base. The system includes a wiper assembly having a pair of spaced apart arms. Each arm has a plurality of parallel fingers extending from one end. One of the fingers on a first arm engages a conductor line on the resistive path and a second finger on the first arm engages an adjacent conductor line along the resistive path. A first finger on the second arm engages a conductive line on the conductive path; and a second finger engages an adjacent conductor line on the conductive path. The wiper assembly is constructed and arranged to provide rotational movement along the arc-shaped conductive path and arc-shaped resistive path. The system also has a float with an extending lever that is connected to the wiper assembly to produce rotational movement of the wiper assembly as the float moves.

A measurement unit measures the fuel level based on a change in the capacitance in the variable capacitance unit.

A first finger on the second arm engages a conductive line on the conductive path; and a second finger engages an adjacent conductor line on the conductive path. The wiper assembly is constructed and arranged to provide rotational movement along the arc-shaped conductive path and arc-shaped resistive path. The system also has a float with an extending lever that is connected to the wiper assembly to produce rotational movement of the wiper assembly as the float moves.

A resistance setting part of the second segment part is connected to positive electrode terminals, and a connecting part of the first segment part is connected to a negative electrode terminal by a negative electrode lead. A connection point of the negative electrode lead connected to the connecting part is formed between both ends of the connecting part in a length direction. A resistance deviation in a measured resistance value depending on a change in the position of the wiper may be reduced. 1. A liquid level sensor includes a base member disposed above the liquid. A lever arm is pivotally attached to the base member. The lever arm is configured to interact with the liquid so that it has an angular displacement relative to the base member. The angular displacement is a function of the level of the liquid in the liquid channel. A sensor senses angular displacement of the lever arm. A communications circuit transmits the angular displacement of the lever arm to a remote location. In a method of detecting a liquid level, a float that is buoyant in the liquid is placed into the liquid and is coupled to a lever arm. An angular displacement of the lever arm relative to a base member is measured. The liquid level is a function of the angular displacement of the lever arm. 1. A liquid level sensor for sensing level of a liquid in a liquid channel , comprising:(a) a base member disposed above the liquid;(b) a lever arm pivotally attached to the base member, the lever arm configured to interact with the liquid so that it has an angular displacement relative to the base member that is a function of the level of the liquid in the liquid channel;(c) a sensor configured to sense the angular displacement of the lever arm; and(d) a communications circuit configured to transmit an indication of the angular displacement of the lever arm to a remote location.2. The liquid level sensor of claim 1 , wherein the liquid moves in the liquid channel along a first direction and wherein the lever arm comprises a paddle having a first end attached to the base member and a opposite second end extending into the liquid so that hydrodynamic force applied by the liquid to the paddle causes the paddle to pivot in the first direction.3. The moving fluid causes rotation of the barrel which is detected by a barrel rotation sensor. The sensor sends electronic signals to a signal processor which produces fluid velocity data. The arm may have an angular position sensor which will also deliver electronic signals to the signal processor. The combined rotation and angular signals are integrated by the signal processor to produce volumetric fluid flow data.

본 고안은 액체 탱크 내부에 설치하여 수위의 변화에 따른 부력에 의해서 온/오프 상태를 출력하는 일명 '오뚜기식 레벨 스위치'라고도 불리고 있는 플로트 타입 레벨 스위치에 관한 것이다.
