A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate having a first alignment base layer disposed thereon, a second substrate facing the first substrate and having a second alignment base layer disposed thereon, and ferroelectric liquid crystals vertically aligned between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first alignment controller combines with the first alignment base layer and includes a side chain longer than that of the first alignment base layer. The second alignment controller combines with the second alignment base layer and includes a side chain longer than that of the second alignment base layer. The ferroelectric liquid crystals are pre-tilted by the first alignment controller and the second alignment controller, and as a result, transmittance may be improved. Because the ferroelectric liquid crystals are pre-tilted, a cell gap may be decreased and high-speed driving may be possible at a low voltage.

An alignment film is given a 2-layer structure comprising a photoalignment film that is photoalignable and a low-resistivity alignment film whose resistivity is smaller than that of the photoalignment film. The photoalignment film is formed by a polyimide whose precursor is polyamide acid alkyl ester, the number molecular weight of the photoalignment film is large, and the stability of alignment of the photoalignment film by photoalignment is excellent. The present invention provides to an in-plane-switching (IPS) mode liquid crystal panel, which comprises: a first substrate, a second substrate, a coplanar transparent electrode layer and a liquid crystal layer. The first and second substrates have a first alignment film and a second alignment film, respectively. The coplanar transparent electrode layer is disposed onto the second alignment film. The liquid crystal layer is disposed in a space between the first alignment film of the first substrate and the coplanar transparent electrode layer of the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer comprises dual-frequency liquid crystal molecules and dual-frequency reactive mesogens/monomers. The liquid crystal panel of the present invention can overcome the problems of pollution and static electricity generated from the rubbing alignment in the in-plane-switching (IPS) mode, so as to simplify the manufacturing process and provide the advantages of high contrast, high response speed and wide viewing angle.

METHOD FOR IMPROVING POLYIMIDE NON-ADHERENCE TO SUBSTRATE

Disclosed is a method for improving polyimide (PI) non-adherence to a substrate and a PI solution. The method includes the following steps: (1) providing a substrate and a PI solution, the PI solution comprising PI molecules and a solvent, the PI molecules having hydrophobic moieties; and (2) coating the PI solution on the substrate to form a PI film. The PI solution includes PI molecules and a solvent. The PI molecules have hydrophobic moieties. The solvent includes N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, γ-butyrolactone, butyl carbonate, or a mixture thereof. The PI molecules of the PI solution contain hydrophobic moieties and in coating the PI solution to a substrate, the hydrophobic moieties link with organic compounds on the substrate thereby enhancing affinity of the PI solution with surface of the substrate, improving the issue of PI non-adherence, and the heightening quality of printing the substrate. 1. A method for improving polyimide (PI) non-adherence to a substrate , comprising the following steps:(1) providing a substrate and a PI solution, the PI solution comprising PI molecules and a solvent, the PI molecules having hydrophobic moieties, wherein the hydrophobic moieties are grafted on the PI molecules by polymerization reaction so as to form hydrophobic side chains of the PI molecules; and(2) coating the PI solution on the substrate to form a PI film, whereby the PI molecules of the PI solution are linked to organic compounds on the substrate through the hydrophobic side chains thereof.2. The method for improving PI non-adherence to a substrate as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the substrate comprises a thin-film transistor (TFT) substrate or a color filter (CF) substrate.3. The present invention provides a liquid crystal medium composition and a liquid crystal display panel manufactured with same. The liquid crystal medium composition includes a negative type liquid crystal material, a polymerizable monomer, a sensitizer, and stabilizer. The sensitizer is an organometallic complex that has an amount of 0.01%-5% of total mass of the liquid crystal composition and has a strong absorption of ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 300-450 nm. The sensitizer converts the primary wavelength range of ultraviolet light for reaction of the polymerizable monomer from 200-300 nm to 300-450 nm, staying away from the absorption band of the liquid crystal material and reducing damages caused on the liquid crystal material and the alignment material of polyimide, thereby heightening reaction efficiency and homogeneity of the polymerizable monomer and the quality and lifespan of the liquid crystal display panel.
