The holding ring has an opening dimensioned to receive and snugly hold in position a timepiece movement, and the holding ring has an upper peripheral surface for supporting a peripheral flange of the timepiece movement and for holding a face of the timepiece movement against a front of the timepiece case. The holding ring has resilient projections abutting the back cover ring for maintaining the holding ring in position between the flange of the timepiece movement and the back cover ring.
