The antenna houses the drive mechanism and has a cylindrical side part, a bottom part that covers the opening on the back side of the side part, and an antenna electrode that contacts the inside of the side part. The back cover covers the back side of the case and is also the bottom part. The dielectric extends circumferentially to the side part, and contacts the antenna electrode in the face-back cover direction. A slot extending circumferentially is formed in the antenna electrode. Even if some variable magnetic flux generated by a coil of an antenna runs through the main case and the rear cover, the receiving efficiency of the antenna can be prevented from being reduced by eddy current loss and a sufficient radio receiving sensitivity can be obtained. This nonmagnetic stainless steel is produced by hot and/or cold plastic working and subsequent solution treating conducted at 1,000-1,180° C.

A novel and useful system and method for extracting timing, time and additional information from a broadcast received in a radio controlled clock (RCC) receiver. The RCC receiver extracts timing information represented by a known synchronization sequence that is used for acquisition and tracking purposes. The RCC receiver extracts time information as a merged 26-bit time information word linearly coded into 31 bits comprising the number of minutes (or hours) since the turn of the current century. A minute counter representing the 26 bits is converted into the date, hour, and minute. The RCC extracts additional information including the schedule for the next daylight saving time transition and for an imminent leap second. The communications protocol optionally employs error correcting codes to provide protection for data fields in the frame, which the RCC may use to enhance reception reliability in the presence of noise and interference.

A control method is provided for an electronic device that has a receiver to receive a satellite signal, and a time display unit to display time. The method includes selecting, by manual operation using a crown or a button, a first time correction processing or a second time correction processing. When the first time correction processing is selected, the control method further includes receiving a satellite signal, acquiring time information based on the received satellite signal, and correcting the displayed time based on the acquired time information. When the second time correction processing is selected, the control method further includes receiving a satellite signal, calculating the position of the electronic device based on satellite orbit information contained in the received satellite signal, and correcting the displayed time based on the calculated position.

Some embodiments of the time resilient system and methods disclosed herein can be configured to detect and defend against invalid time signals. According to various embodiments of the disclosed technology, the time resilient system include a receiver for collecting time signals sourced from an external clock. By way of example only, the external clock may be a high precision clock housed within a Global Positioning System. Other embodiments may include an internal clock calibrated to a time reflected on the external clock so that the internal clock and the external clock are synchronized. Additionally, a controller may monitor changes in time signals of the external over a period of time against the internal clock, where the system is alerted of a timing attack when the time signals collected from the receiver deviate a pre-determined time range with the time of the internal clock. 1.
