The equipment is installed to receive time signals from a master transmitter and display the correct time with possibly further data in a motor vehicle. The two modules used can be spatially separated in the vehicle. The first module (1) contains at least a receiving circuit (23). The second module (6) contains at least a decoder (26) for the time signals, a clock circuit (27) and a display (28). The first module is directly coupled to an electric antenna pref. rod type (3). The latter is also suitable for reception of radio programmes. The module (1) has a decoupling circuit (22) and output terminal (4,5) for the antenna input of a radio. This module also has an antenna amplifier (24). ADVANTAGE - First module can be coupled to antenna by very short lead. Prevents interference signals arising within bodywork affecting weak antenna signal. Display can be installed at most favourable position without making special arrangements for signal transfer.

The tuning fork quartz is used in the temp. region of -40 to +85 deg.C. It has a temp. reversing point in excess of 25 Deg.C and a heater with temp. control. Pref. the temp. reversing point is between +35 and +45 deg.C. The tuning fork quartz is filled in a housing completely surrounded in a good thermal conductive way be the heater. The heater pref. consists of a PTC conductor, tuned to the temp. reversing point, insulated by a thermal insulation. The heating may be regulated to a temp. blow the temp. reversing point of the tuning fork quartz. USE/ADVANTAGE - For radio clocks, oscillators, and frequency filters, with large operating range, but without expensive and complicated circuits.

The measuring device uses a substitution circuit provided by a resistance (19) inserted in the supply lines between the IC (1) and a storage capacitor (3), with the IC and the DC supply stage contained in a fully screened housing. Pref. the resistance (19) is inserted in the earth supply line and is used to measure the parasitic currents of the IC. The impedance characteristic of the resistance (19) over the required frequency range is pref. measured and used to obtain correction values for the obtained measurements.

A transmitter has its input electrically coupled to the output of the Wiegand element. A receiver is spatially and electrically separated from the transmitter. The latter (7) is composed entirely of passive components and includes an electric oscillating circuit excitable from a Wiegard pulse generated by the Wiegard element. The magnetic field generating arrangement (4,5) can be mounted on a vehicle wheel (1), e.g. on the spokes (3) of a bicycle wheel. The transmitter can be mounted on the fork (6) of the front wheel and the receiver (13) on the handlebars (14). USE/ADVANTAGE - Counting number of rotations of wheel for tachometer or antilocking system. Transmitter does not have to be made accessible and is insensitive to dirt.

Reduction of noise current in microprocessor system - controlling operating clock frequency w.r.t. program activity level to relate to average clock frequency value

Tbe relative program activity of a microprocessor is on average 43 percent of the total time available, and for this a higher clock frequency is used. For the remaining period a lower frequency is used. The average clock frequency to be adopted is determined on the basis of reducing the noise currents in the processor system. The ratio of average clock frequency to the higher frequency is related to the average power of the microprocessor. For specific higher to lower frequency ratios, an optimum condition may be determined. USE - For display of vehicle dashboard.
