A hinge is configured for routing electrical wiring therein. The hinge includes a pair of opposing bosses aligned along a rotational axis and a hollow portion having ends respectively engaging the bosses. The hollow portion is rotatable about the rotational axis, relative to the bosses. Wiring, such as a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) has a portion thereof inserted into the hollow portion. A rod is inserted into the hollow portion and aligned along the rotational axis. The rod fixes the inserted portion of the wiring in a neutral position, and thus, reduces wear and tear on the wiring caused by the hinge action.

Electronic devices may be provided that contain multiple housing portions. The housing portions may be coupled together using hinges. The hinges may include hinges based on a three-bar linkage, hinges based on a four-bar linkage, hinges with slotted members, hinges formed from flexible support structures, and hinges based on flexible housing structures. Flexible displays may be mounted to the housing portions overlapping the hinges. When the housing portions in a device are rotated relative to each other, the flexible display may bend. The hinge may be configured to allow the flexible display to be placed in a front-to-front configuration in which an active side of the display faces itself or a back-to-back configuration. Engagement structures may be used to help the housing grip external objects and to hold the housing portions together. The hinges may be provided with rotational detents to help hold the flexible display in desired positions.

An electronic device is provided, including a main body, a latching mechanism, and a movable member. The latching mechanism is disposed on the main body to join with the movable member. The latching mechanism includes a rod, a first latching member disposed on a side of the rod, a second latching member connected to the rod, a first elastic member connecting the first latching member with the main body, a second elastic member connecting the second latching member with the main body, and a rotary member. The rotary member pivotally connects to the main body, and connects the rod with the first latching member.
