In one embodiment, the relief is created by micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) placed above a cover layer of the electronic display. Each MEMS when activated can protrude or depress, thus creating the relief on the electronic display. In another embodiment, the relief is created by a plurality of resistors placed beneath the cover layer. The cover layer is made out of an elastically deformable material that, when heated, expands, thus creating a protrusion on the electronic display. The disclosure discloses an improving method of bending display abnormality of a flexible display, including the following steps: detecting a characteristic parameter of a driving thin film transistor of each of pixels in the flexible panel during display bending; calculating a bending position of the flexible panel according to the characteristic parameter of the driving thin film transistor of each of pixels; performing image visual correction on an image displayed by the pixels located at the bending position of the flexible panel. The disclosure also discloses an improving device of display bending abnormality of a flexible display and a flexible display. In the disclosure, when the flexible display is displayed in a bent state, the pixels located at the bending position are corrected to improve the display abnormality, thereby enhancing the display quality.

An intelligent, self-learning display uses knowledgebase rules to determine how to deform its flexible, touch-sensitive upper surface into a three-dimensional representation of displayed content. The upper surface is deformed by selectively inflating balloons, pistons, or other devices embedded into a lower layer of the display, such that the inflated devices exert upward pressure on specific regions of the surface. The flexible upper surface consists of two sublayers that each contain a grid of small strips. The two grids are skewed such that the lower-sublayer strips fill in otherwise-visible gaps between upper-sublayer strips during a deformation. A user may use tactile feedback to adjust characteristics of the deformation, such as the deformation's height. A machine-learning mechanism records user adjustments in a corpus that is then used to train the display to more accurately deform its surface when representing three-dimensional content.

A foldable display device includes a display screen including a first half screen and a second half screen, a controller and at least one angle probe set. Each set includes a transmitter and a plurality of receivers. The transmitter is inclined at a first angle with respect to the first half screen and faces the second half screen, and is configured to emit collimated infrared light. Each receiver is inclined at a second angle with respect to the second half screen, and is in signal connection with the controller, and is configured to transmit an electrical signal to the controller when receiving the collimated infrared light. The controller is in signal connection with the display screen, and is configured to determine a bending angle from angle information of the receiver and control the display screen to switch to a display state for the bending angle. 1.
