A force applicator 106 is used to apply pressure on the connector via the force transmitting surfaces. The upper section is supported by the walls 110 of the base 102, so the sections separate as shown in Fig 8. Also disclosed are two methods of removing the circuit board from the lower section (Figs 10 and 15). The module could be an engine control module (ECM) for a vehicle.

A tool used for connecting busbars comprises a stationary portion 1 and a movable portion 2, which moves on shafts (11, 12) attached to the stationary portion. Each portion has clamping portions (27) and positioning pillars (25, 111, Fig 2) to clamp a busbar. Loading portion 3 holds rods (Fig 13). Heating portions (17, 26) heat the busbars to expand them, the loading portion is rotated to align the rods with holes in the busbars, and a hydraulic or pneumatic means is used to move the movable portion towards the stationary portion using a movable shaft (13). Once the ends of the rods are engaged in the busbars the loading portion is rotated out of the way and the busbars moved completely together. The tool allows the busbars to abut end-to-end.

A cable connector with improved performance and ease of use. The connector has staggered ports to reduce crosstalk and to prevent incorrect insertion of a plug into a receptacle. When a hobby enthusiast has recharged the battery for a remote controlled vehicle, such as a scale facsimile automobile, boat, helicopter or airplane, the battery must be connected again to the vehicle drive system, to provide power. This operation is typically performed by connecting each lead of an electronic speed controller to each corresponding lead of the battery, through a removable barrel receptacle lead and a mating barrel plug lead respectively, attached to each corresponding lead. An improved connector lead is described herein that protects components that may be attached to either lead in a connection. The charge dissipates in a resistive member that is physically coupled to a conductive member to form at least in part a first lead. When an improved lead is connected to a mating lead, the connection initially provides a charge dissipation path through the resistive member, but subsequently provides a bypass, current carrying conductive path around the resistive member from one component to another. By making use of an improved connector, electrical components are protected, not only from hot-swap current, but also from electrostatic discharge in general. 1. The present invention is a charged-particle gun (EG) in which a negative electrode () and a positive electrode () are integrated and assembled in advance, and which can be stored and transported in a state in which the negative electrode and the positive electrode are integrated, wherein the negative electrode and the positive electrode are connected by a conductor () during storage and transportation of the charged-particle gun. It is thereby possible to prevent an electrode tip of the charged-particle gun from being damaged by electrical discharge caused by static electricity during storage and transportation. 1. A method for handling an electron gun or an ion gun having a negative electrode and a positive electrode for storage or transportation , comprising connecting the two electrodes with a conductor.2. A surface mount coaxial cable connector comprising a generally elongate block. A channel extends between the proximate and remote ends for receiving a coaxial cable and includes an upstream larger diameter channel and a downstream, smaller diameter channel for receiving with little clearance the central conductor after the shield and the outer layer have been removed. A retention latch mechanism having a retention spring of a first connector engageable with a retention feature of a second connector.
