Каждая катушка состоит из опорной части [3] на основном слое [1] и ответной части [4] на дополняющем слое [2]; опорные [3] и ответные [4] части катушек раздельно друг от друга образуют на своих слоях чередующиеся и соединенные с соответствующими частями других катушек пары [5] и [6]. Катушки соединены друг с другом встречно-последовательно, а именно в паре опорных частей на основном слое катушки соединены начало с началом, а в паре ответных частей на дополняющем слое – конец с концом. The weights 9 are carried by levers 5, 6 pivoted at points 7, 8 between their ends to a disc 3 spring mounted upon the shaft 2. The levers are connected on either side of the pivots by wire members 11, 14 extending behind the disc. The weights 9, carry pads 17 which engage a conical disc 18 adjustably secured to a tubular member 23 on a casing 24 by a spiral slot and pin 22. Holes 12, 13 enable the wire members to pass freely through the disc. The weights move outwardly against the action of springs 15, 16. The friction pads may be arranged at the other ends of the levers, the disc being coned to project between them.

Reflected light can be effectively utilized by increasing a light receiving area. Incremental light receiving element groups are separated and arranged in the circumferential direction of a rotating unit while placing a light source therebetween. A base plate of a motor includes an inner bottom plate portion and an elevated portion. A land portion is arranged on an upper surface of a portion of a circuit board which overlaps with the inner bottom plate portion in a plan view, or on a portion of the circuit board which overlaps with the elevated portion in the plan view. A conducting wire extending from a coil is electrically connected to the land portion. This structure enables the conducting wire to be connected to the land portion on the circuit board without the conducting wire being drawn outward beyond an outer circumferential end portion of the base plate. The axial position of the conducting wire connected to the land portion and the axial position of the base plate at least partially overlap with each other.
