Once the virtual connection is established, the switches can move connectionless data packets along the established path in a straight-forward manner without transformation of the data packets. The complexities associated with routing data are pushed out of the data transfer path and are instead handled at connection establishment time. This allows the switches to be simpler and therefore faster. Also, the switching decision is substantially protocol independent and transparent to the end systems. It also yields important benefits in terms of manageability because capabilities which were too costly to perform on a packet-by-packet basis can readily be performed at connection establishment time. A transmission line control processor performs various processes in response to requests of a call processor for capture, allotment, and release of a subscriber line or an inter-station line. Additionally, in response to requests of the call processor for a reservation, connection, and disconnection of a path, the transmission line control processor instructs an ATM switch to connect or disconnect the path. These processes can be performed using with the existing functions of ordinary call processors, and such complicated processes as the management of bands at ATM switches are executed exclusively by a transmission line control processor.

A network device detects a multicast video stream being from an upstream resource being sent to downstream multicast members. If the number of multicast members are below a threshold (e.g., 5 stations), multicast network packets can be converted to unicast network packets. On the other hand, if the number of multicast members are above the threshold, the multicast members are divided into groupings based on capabilities of the multicast members, such as data rate capability. Data rates of transmissions are set according to the group data rate capabilities. As a result, the higher data rate members are able to operate at a higher speed rather than at the lowest common denominator. Further, because there are several multicast streams being sent, packets missed from the higher data rate stream can be picked up on the lower data rate stream.

본 발명은 열차간 통신기반 열차제어시스템의 선행열차 탐색 및 무결성 확인방법에 관한 것으로; 선행열차와 후행열차간 direct-path 형태의 직접적인 제어경로를 통해 열차의 안전한 간격을 제어하는 열차간 연결기반 열차자율주행제어시스템에서의 선행 열차의 탐색 및 선행 열차의 위치 정보 무결성 검증을 통해 열차 스스로 주변의 열차 운행 상황을 인지하고 안전 운행을 할 수 있도록 하는 열차간 통신기반 열차제어시스템의 선행열차 탐색 및 무결성 확인방법을 제공한다. 본 발명은 운행열차의 차상 ATP로 지상 ATS의 임무시작 명령이 수신되면 사전에 저장된 영업 노선의 멀티캐스트 주소를 이용하여 해당 영업 노선에 존재하는 모든 주행열차 및 관제용 ATS에게 통신그룹 등록을 요청하는 GS(Group Solicitation)메시지를 멀티캐스트로 전송하는 제1단계; 상기 운행열차의 차상 ATP는 상기 주행열차로부터 통신그룹 등록을 수락하는 GA(Group Advertisement)메시지가 유니캐스트로 수신되면 통신그룹 완료 상태로 전환하는 제2단계; 상기 운행열차의 차상ATP는 자신의 위치를 상기 주행열차로 전송하고, 상기 주행열차가 전송한 PR 메시지가 수신되면 주행열차의 위치와 진행방향, 진행경로를 포함하는 운행정보를 수집하여 자신의 차상ATP의 운행DB에 갱신하는 제3단계; 상기 운행열차의 차상ATP는 상기 운행DB를 갱신시 자신의 지도에 상기 주행열차의 위치를 매핑하고 자신과 지리적으로 가까운 선행열차를 탐색 및 결정하는 제4단계; 및 상기 운행열차의 차상 ATP는 D2D(Device to Device)를 이용하여 자신의 위치로부터 일정 전파범위(Radio Coverage)(RC) 안에 열차가 존재하는지 확인하여 자신의 운행DB 중 선행열차와 주변열차 정보의 무결성을 확인하는 제5단계;를 포함하여 구성되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
