Disclosed herein is a flow cell having an endless loop manifold. The flow cell includes at least two inlet channels. The inlet channels are each connectable with a reservoir and controllable by means of valves. The inlet channels end in an inlet chamber. Each of two ends of the inlet chamber is connected with a discharge channel by means of outlet channels. Old fluid remaining in the inlet chamber is displaced into the discharge channel by newly supplied fluid. Dead time waiting until the old fluid has been displaced by the pure new fluid is minimal.

When the system is in an electronic mode, an encoder may electronically encode the fluid flow selection. A controller may receive the electronically encoded flow selection and transmit a corresponding control signal to an electronic valve to allow the fluid to flow at the selected flow rate. When the system is in a manual mode, backup manual flow selectors may be used to directly control the flow rate of a fluid. When the system is in a manual mode, the mechanical backup flow selectors may be in a deployed position. When the system is in an electronic mode, the mechanical backup flow selectors may be in a retracted position. Particular applications to gases and anesthesia delivery are disclosed herein.

When the motive fluid passes through the eductor, a selected chemical fluid is eductively drawn into the venturi of the eductor, producing a mixed fluid having a desired total flow rate and dilution ratio. Additional dilution ratios, flow rates, and chemical fluids are selectable by diverting motive fluid to another channel or combinations of channels. Carry-over of chemical fluid between dispensing is avoided by diverting the motive fluid rather than by diverting the concentrated chemical fluid.

The invention relates to a method of using new flushing ports (IA7 IB) when cleaning a piston accumulator (7). Dirty hydraulic oil is returned out via the main port (2) and a return passage (9) until a cleanness grade has been reached. Clean hydraulic oil is forced into the piston accumulator (7) via the axial bores (3A, B) of the flushing ports (IA, B) and further in sloping bores (3C, D), bringing the hydraulic oil into the volume (8) in an upward, tangential direction below the piston (5), into a flushing circulation. By reducing the gas pressure on the gas side (4) of the piston (5) in relation to flushing pressure input from a valve (6), a volume (8) is created on the oil side between the piston (5) and the end bottom (3). The return passage (9) is closed and the piston (5) is brought into its upper position, so that an internal cylinder wall (10) is cleaned. Upon pressure build-up, the return passage (9) is opened, and the piston (5) returns to its end position on the oil side while the supply of clean hydraulic oil is maintained, and the operation is repeated until a cleanness grade has been achieved.

A variety of adjusting mechanisms are disclosed for varying the cross sectional area of the second apertures relative to the cross sectional area of the venturi tube. The apparatus is adapted to allow the back pressure within the venturi tube (which increases as the fluid flow rate increases) to force an increasing proportion of the flow stream to flow around the venturi tube in order to maintain a relatively constant aspiration rate within the venturi tube. The adjustment mechanisms disclosed include a second plate, similar to the first plate, which is manually rotated and a blocking ring which moves responsive to changes in rate of flow of the fluid flow stream.

The end cap (28) has a distal plate (34) with an inlet and is removably attached to the syringe (18) to cover the distal opening (26). The wall (36) is positioned proximate to the inlet and at least partially defines a volume in fluid communication with the inlet. An orifice (76) extends through the wall (36) and fluidly connects the volume to the cavity (22). A flow of a liquid component (14) of biomaterial diffuses through the orifice and is introduced into a particulate component (12) of biomaterial. As such, the liquid component (14) of biomaterial hydrates the particulate component (12) of biomaterial.

The present design provides a seal at the interfaces between components. Wet abrasive systems typically have a combination of equipment, controls, and piping systems that allow various fluid flows to be controlled in order to provide the various operations. A fluid control circuit is used to provide fluid to the correct locations for each operation. A fluid control circuit has a multiport selector valve. The selector valve allows selective fluid communication between the fluid inlet and either a first fluid outlet or a second fluid outlet. A first piping system is in fluid communication with the first fluid outlet and a second piping system is in fluid communication with the second fluid outlet. The fluid control circuit may also have jumper piping system between the first piping system and the second piping system. The combination of a multiport selector and the piping systems provide a convenient blast system to operate.

A burner arrangement includes a venturi cluster including a plurality of venturis arranged for parallel flow. The multi venturi arrangement utilizing pressurized fuel as the inducing fluid to induce a flow of air enables the provision of an ultra fuel lean premix of fuel and air. A central burner tube which extends outwardly beyond the delivery end of a primary burner tip and mounts a relatively small capacity nozzle at a substantial distance from the delivery end of the burner tip enabling the ultra fuel lean mixture to expand and slow down such that its linear speed does not exceed the flame speed of the mixture prior to by the flame of the spaced nozzle. A deflector may be positioned adjacent the nozzle to assist in stabilizing the flame after the expansion and slowing process has been completed.

A dispenser selectively mixes one or more chemical fluids into a motive fluid such as water by using diverting motive fluid to one or more channels formed in an eductor body, at least one of the channels being an eductor. When the motive fluid passes through the eductor, a selected chemical fluid is eductively drawn into the venturi of the eductor, producing a mixed fluid having a desired total flow rate and dilution ratio. Additional dilution ratios, flow rates, and chemical fluids are selectable by diverting motive fluid to another channel or combinations of channels. Carry-over of chemical fluid between dispensing is avoided by diverting the motive fluid rather than by diverting the concentrated chemical fluid.

A liquid diluting device, with a small and simple structure, is capable of reliably sealing and simply changing dilution concentration. Diluent passages are formed in a first body, and a connecting passage for introducing special liquid connects to these diluent passages. A cylindrical dial covering an opening section of the connecting passage is rotatably provided on an outer section of the first body, a plurality of jets passing through from the inside to the outside are formed in conjunction with this cylindrical dial, and the diameters of the plurality of jets are different. A liquid supply passage is set at a position opposite the connecting passage, so that the cylindrical dial is sandwiched between the liquid supply passage and the connecting passage, and the connecting passage and the liquid supply passage are connected by a jet having a diameter matching the dilution factor to introduce special liquid from the liquid supply passage to one of the diluent passages. In this way, by rotatably attaching the cylindrical dial in which the plurality of jets are formed to the first body, it is possible to have a small and simple structure, and also to easily change the dilution factor by merely turning the dial.

A dispense panel may include multiple inlet lines for supplying different chemicals. Each inlet line is connected to its own three-way valve that either allows the supplied chemical to flow from the inlet line towards a dispense valve connected to a dispense manifold (during dispensing of the supplied chemical) or allows another chemical to flow from the dispense valve to a waste manifold (during priming of the dispense manifold with this other chemical). Specifically, during priming a chemical supplied from its inlet line and is passed through a corresponding three-way valve and is directed to its dispense valve and then into the dispense manifold. Other dispense valves and three-way valves of the dispense panel allow this chemical to flow out of the dispense manifold, thereby priming remaining parts of the panel.
