Snap In Weatherstripping

Номер: US20120009378A1
Принадлежит: GREENSTAR TECHNOLOGIES LLC

A snap in weatherstripping where the backing has a plurality of alternating notched out spaces along each side to facilitate ease of insertion into a channel without the need to slide the weatherstripping longitudinally into the channel. The snap in weatherstripping can be pushed into the channel with a gentle side to side or rolling motion, thus eliminating the difficulties associated with longitudinally sliding a weatherstripping into a channel. The snap in arrangement of the weatherstripping eases replacement, and also accommodates variations in tolerance between the weatherstripping and the channel, making it desirable for replacement of existing degraded weatherstripping.

A filament is fed to an extrusion head. The filament has a semi-crystalline polymeric reinforcement portion and a polymeric matrix portion. The reinforcement and matrix portions run continuously along a length of the filament. The reinforcement portion has a higher melting point and a higher crystallinity than the matrix portion. The temperature of the filament is raised in the extrusion head above the melting point of the matrix portion but below the melting point of the reinforcement portion so that the matrix portion of the filament melts within the extrusion head, thereby forming a partially molten filament within the extrusion head. The partially molten filament is extruded from the extrusion head onto a substrate, the reinforcement portion of the partially molten filament remaining in a semi-crystalline state as it is extruded from the extrusion head. Relative movement is generated between the extrusion head and the substrate as the partially molten filament is extruded onto the substrate in order to form an extruded line on the substrate. Impregnated Cloth

Номер: US20210017702A1
Принадлежит: Concrete Canvas Technology Ltd.

A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement. 115.-. A cloth as claimed in claim 16 , in which the first face and/or second face is backed by a further layer such as a damp proof layer being impervious to liquids or gases claim 16 , said further layer preferably being formed from PVC.18. SUBSTRATES COATED WITH WEAR RESISTANT LAYERS AND METHODS OF APPLYING WEAR RESISTANT LAYERS TO SAME

Номер: US20200023404A1
Принадлежит:

Components with improved erosion resistance are disclosed. A surface of the component or a substrate of the component is modified by coating the substrate with an elastomer layer. The elastomer layer is then modified by embedding hard particles onto an outer side of the elastomer layer. The hard particles exhibit higher fractured toughness providing enhanced erosion protection. The elastic properties of the elastomer experience little reduction because the surface embedded particles are located only at the outer side or outer surface of the elastomer layer. Therefore, the bond between the inner side of the elastomer layer and the substrate or component surface is not interfered with and the potential for electro-chemical corrosion and poor adhesion are not increased by the presence of the hard particles as the hard particles are located away from the inner face between the elastomer layer and the substrate. 15-. Method of producing a multi-layer magnetoelectronic device and magnetoelectronic device

Номер: US20150064499A1
Принадлежит: Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron DESY

A method of producing a multilayer magnetoelectronic device and a related device. The method includes depositing a multilayer structure including at least two ferromagnetic layers disposed one on top of the other and each having a magnetic anisotropy with a corresponding magnetic moment. A magnetization curve is specified for the magnetoelectronic device. The number of ferromagnetic layers and, for each of the ferromagnetic layers, the magnetic moment and the magnetic hardness for obtaining the specified magnetization curve are determined. For each of the ferromagnetic layers a magnetic material, a thickness, an azimuthal angle and an angle of incidence are determined for obtaining the determined magnetic moment and magnetic hardness of the respective ferromagnetic layer. The multilayer structure is deposited using the determined material, thickness, azimuthal angle and angle of incidence for each of the ferromagnetic layers.

A micro-encapsulated, improved vapor corrosion inhibitor

Номер: US20180073151A1
Принадлежит: Individual

The current invention relates to a micro-encapsulted, volatile vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI), and method for the use of same. More particularly, it relates to a fluid composition, and microencapsulation of the fluid composition, that inhibits corrosion and tarnishing and that may be relatively non-toxic. The VCI is intended to be employed in varying concentrations depending on the intended application and deployed via microcapsules. The microcapsules may be adapted to release the VCI over time, or all at once. To effect this, the microcapsules may be adapted to be breached at varying times or at the same time. By adapting the microcapsules, or the method of breaching the microcapsules, the rate at which the VCI is released may be controlled.

COILED, TWISTED NANOFIBER YARN AND POLYMER FIBER TORSIONAL ACTUATORS

Номер: US20180073490A1

Actuators (artificial muscles) comprising twist-spun nanofiber yarn or twist-inserted polymer fibers generate torsional actuation when powered electrically, photonically, chemically, thermally, by absorption, or by other means. These artificial muscles utilize coiled yarns/polymer fibers and can be either neat or comprising a guest. In some embodiments, the torsional fiber actuator includes a first polymer fiber (exhibiting a first polymer fiber diameter) and a torsional return spring in communication with the first polymer fiber. The first polymer fiber is configured to include a first plurality of twists in a first direction to produce a twisted polymer fiber. The first polymer fiber is further configured to include a plurality of coils in the twisted polymer fiber in a second direction each coil having a mean coil diameter. In some embodiments, the torsional nanofiber actuator includes a first carbon nanofiber yarn (having a yarn diameter) and a torsional return spring in communication with the first carbon nanofiber yarn. The first carbon nanofiber yarn includes a plurality of twists in a first direction to produce a twisted carbon nanofiber yarn. The first carbon nanofiber yarn further includes a plurality of coils in the twisted carbon nanofiber yarn, with each coil having a mean coil diameter greater than the yarn diameter. 1103-.
