The method for capturing a face image comprises: on the basis of face feature points of each preview image in at least one preview image captured by the electronic device, determining a face posture corresponding to the at least one preview image; determining a first state of the electronic device capturing the preview image, the first state representing the stability of the electronic device; and when the face posture corresponding to the at least one preview image satisfies a first set condition, and the stability of the electronic device represented by the determined first state satisfies a second set condition, outputting a first photo on the basis of the at least one preview image, the first photo being used for identification by a server.
