The herbal-preparation extract of the present invention can advantageously be used in pharmaceuticals or in health and functional foods for the prevention and treatment of obesity, since the extract of the present invention is effective in suppressing adipose differentiation of 3T3-L1 cells which are mouse-derived adipocytes, and, in white rats in which obesity was induced by using a high-fat diet, the extract of the present invention is effective in reducing body weight and reducing body fat and in reducing the blood lipid concentration.
